Introduction of bamboo dance of all ethnic groups

Bamboo dance is popular in many ethnic groups, and each ethnic group has different development. The following is the introduction of bamboo dance of all ethnic groups I have compiled. Welcome to read!

1, Wa bamboo dance

Wa people live across borders, distributed in China, Myanmar and Thailand. There are nearly 300,000 Wa people in China, which are distributed in Cangyuan, Ximeng, Gengma, Shuangjiang, Zhenkang, Yongde and Lancang counties, Xishuangbanna Autonomous Prefecture and Dehong Autonomous Prefecture in the west and southwest of Yunnan Province. Among them, Cangyuan Wa Autonomous County and Ximeng Wa Autonomous County are the main inhabited areas of Wa people, and the population of Wa people in these two counties accounts for about 58% of the total population of Wa people in China. Wa people in China are located between Lancang River and salween, and distributed in the southern section of Nushan Mountain. The mountains in this area overlap and there are few flat dams, so it is also called Awa Mountain.

Wa nationality is a nation that can sing and dance well. Bamboo dance, once a kind of dance to bless the elderly after their death, has now become an entertaining dance.

The dance form is the same as that of Li nationality in Hainan. That is, two large bamboo poles are flat on the ground. Outside the two big bamboo poles, people hold the small bamboo pole face to face and slide back and forth along the big bamboo pole, and the dancers jump in the gap between the two bamboo poles. The dance moves are lively and cheerful, imitating the shapes of ants, turtledoves, leopards and thrushes.

Bamboo dance is usually held after the death of famous and influential old people in the village. It beats the bamboo pole with a pestle and dances, and all men, women and children in the village can participate. The local old man said: "Although a man is dead, his soul will not die, and he can't live in another world without singing and dancing, so people will sing and dance to see him off." It is this broad-minded view of life and death that has created many funeral dances of the Wa people.

2. Miao bamboo dance

Bamboo pole dance is a kind of self-entertainment dance created by Miao people in Dongwang Township, Luodian County. It mainly shows the pursuit and ideal of free love for Miao young men and women, and usually performs at major festivals and when welcoming VIPs.

The performance requirements of bamboo pole dance are not very demanding, and the requirements for props are relatively simple. As long as there is a flat grass, you can perform. Generally, it is performed by 8 pairs of young men and women. During the performance, the man wore a short coat with red silk around his waist. Women wear Miao's unique handmade big skirts, beat with Miao drums, cheer with waves, plus red silk and colorful skirts, which set off a simple and free beauty.

Bamboo dance is generally divided into four links: meeting in the mountains, crossing the river in the bridge, falling in love and taking the bride home. Every link reveals the sincere feelings of Miao young men and women, full of many original aesthetic elements, simple and natural.

3, Li bamboo pole dance (chopping wood)

"Jumping firewood" was originally an ancient ritual way of Li nationality. Hundreds of years ago, when the Li family returned to the warehouse after hard farming, men, women and children in the village would wear festive costumes, and every household would cook new rice, brew glutinous rice wine, slaughter livestock and sacrifice ancestors and gods. After a full meal, people will come to the hillside, light bonfires and dance bamboo poles. The tinkling sound of bamboo celebrates the bumper harvest of rice and wishes for a better harvest in the coming year. Every year from the day of spring to the Lantern Festival, the "jumping firewood" lights bonfires almost every night, and the warm atmosphere permeates the villages on the hillside.

With the changes of the times, the custom of "jumping firewood" has gradually spread and evolved among Li people. Nowadays, its sacrificial color has gradually disappeared, and it has become a sports fitness activity with national cultural color. Change the past habit of "female beating male jumping" into "mixed jumping". Now, bamboo pole jumping has become a healthy activity in the "March 3" Lizhaishan Love Festival. Young men and women find "partners" by jumping on bamboo poles, thus enhancing friendship. Small bamboo poles set up a "magpie bridge" for young men and women.
