Established in 1977, Henan Dengfeng Shaolin Epo Wushu College is one of the earliest professional Wushu schools after the founding of New China. Founder Liang Yiquan, 1995, was awarded the title of "Top Ten Contemporary Martial Arts Masters in China" and enjoyed special government allowance from the State Council. In June 2004, it was approved by the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee.
He was awarded the honorary title of "National Advanced Individual of Veteran Cadres". In May 2005, he was awarded the honorary title of "President of the First Excellent Wushu School in China" by China Education Promotion Association and China Education and Culture Newspaper. In July 2006, he was awarded "the first batch of outstanding folk culture inheritors in Henan Province" by the Propaganda Department of Henan Provincial Party Committee and Henan Federation of Literary and Art Circles. He is currently the vice chairman of Henan Wushu Association, China Wushu Jiu Duan, a national senior coach and a representative of Shaolin Boxing School. Dean Liang Shaozong, 1990, graduated from Wushu Department of Beijing Sport University with a bachelor's degree. He is one of the eighteen King Kong in Shaolin, and he has eight sections of China Wushu. In 2000, he was awarded the honorary title of "Top Ten Outstanding Youth" in Dengfeng City and the winner of the "May 1st" Labor Medal. He is currently a member of the Standing Committee of Dengfeng Municipal People's Congress, a representative of Zhengzhou Municipal People's Congress and a member of Zhengzhou Youth Federation.
Up to now, the college covers an area of 654.38 million square meters, with a building area of 72,000 square meters and a training ground of 56,000 square meters. Its comprehensive assets amounted to 654.38 billion yuan, with more than 6,500 students from all over the country. More than 1 100 foreign students study martial arts in the college every year. Culture classes are offered in preschool classes, primary schools, junior high schools, senior high schools, technical secondary schools and computer majors according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education. At the same time, martial arts routines, film and television performances, Sanda, taekwondo, wrestling and other majors are offered.
The school has sent more than 2,000 undergraduates to Beijing Sport University, Chengdu, Tianjin, Wuhan, Shanghai, Xi 'an and other universities, as well as Henan University and Zhengzhou University. It has trained more than 3,000 talents for the national armed police, public security and security departments, more than 5,000 qualified coaches and referees for Shaolin Wushu, and tens of thousands of Wushu talents for all walks of life. The school has kept high school graduates for five consecutive years and the employment rate of graduates aged 18 is as high as 100%. Over the years, more than 300 out-of-school children have been sponsored to return to the classroom free of charge, nearly 100 orphans have been adopted, and 622 laid-off and unemployed people have been helped to find jobs again.
Over the years, the school has won 1690 medals in national, provincial and municipal Wushu competitions, including 698 gold medals. He has won five consecutive titles of Shaolin Boxing in Henan Province, the champion of Shaolin Boxing in the National Wushu Competition and the champion of Shaolin Boxing in the 3rd, 6th and 7th Zhengzhou International Wushu Festival in China. In August, 2005, he won the first place in the 5th National Wushu School Wushu Competition in Gansu Province, and in September, he won the title of "The 4th National Wushu Town Wushu Competition Routine and Sanda". On August 30th, 2006, in the 6th National Wushu Competition in Jining, Shandong Province, the members of the Academy won the first place in the total score of the group again with 12 gold, 6 silver and 4 bronze! In July 2007, he won the first place in the total score of Wushu competition groups in the national Wushu school for the third time!
The school set up a Shaolin Wushu performance group and visited more than 80 countries and regions such as Europe, America and Southeast Asia. Especially in August and September, 2007, at the invitation of the the State Council Information Office and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he went to Mexico to participate in the large-scale cultural exchange performance of "Perceiving China's trip to Mexico" and went to Russia to participate in the "Russian Middle-aged" Wushu exchange activities, which not only enhanced the friendship between the Chinese and Mexican peoples, but also further expanded the influence of Shaolin Wushu culture overseas. In the same year1October 26th 1200, the school organized 1200 teachers and students to attend the large-scale group gymnastics performance at the opening ceremony of the 2nd Asian Indoor Games in Macau, and organized more than 800 teachers and students to attend the 8th opening ceremony in Guangzhou on1October 26th 10.
From June 5 to August 2008, the school visited New Zealand, Spain, Austria, Britain, Ireland, Russia, Slovakia and Germany six times. At the same time, a large-scale original dance drama "Shaolin in the Wind" co-starred by Zhengzhou Song and Dance Theatre and performers from our institute was successfully performed in Nanjing People's Hall and Beijing Tianqiao Theatre, and then went to Singapore to perform in July. In September, he will also perform in Australia, Poland and other countries.
In the first half of 2008, the school organized 3,000 teachers and students to go to Guangzhou to attend a large-scale cultural evening performance at the opening ceremony of the 49th World Table Tennis Championships, to go to Luoyang to attend the opening performance of the 18 Asian Taekwondo Championship, to go to Wuhan to attend the performance of the chapter "Soul of China" at the opening ceremony of the third China Central Investment and Trade Expo, and to sail in Zhengzhou. Especially on July 25th, the launching ceremony of the Beijing Olympic torch relay in Zhengzhou City, Henan Province was held in Henan Art Center, and 200 members of our college performed pure Shaolin Wushu!
In 2002, the school was approved by the Henan Provincial Department of Education as a martial arts vocational secondary school, and was jointly approved by the Provincial Department of Education, the Public Security Department and the Foreign Affairs Office as a martial arts school for international students. Approved by the State Sports General Administration as "National Youth Wushu Training Base" and "National Youth Wushu Club", it has been rated as "Top Ten Wushu Schools in China", "Top Ten Museums in Henan Province" and "Outstanding Contribution Award of Wushu" by authoritative martial arts magazines year after year.
In 2008, Shaolin Wushu Culture Expo Center, one of the top 20 sports landscapes in China, will be put into use. It is the only international national-level sports landscape in China that integrates Shaolin Wushu research, exhibition, training, performance, observation, communication, leisure and fitness. Undoubtedly, it provides a more modern training, teaching and performance place for the school, which will surely make the college even more powerful and create more brilliant achievements in a larger space!
