Swimming in summer should prevent drowning.

Drowning, also known as drowning, often happens when you slide into the water or swim. The process of drowning is very fast, usually 4-5 minutes or 6-7 minutes, and you can die because your breathing and heartbeat stop. Many people like to swim in rivers and ponds in summer, and drowning is easy to happen at this time. Therefore, it is necessary for swimmers to master some common sense of self-help and mutual rescue in drowning.

Causes of drowning death include:

(1) A large number of algae, grass and sediment enter the nose, mouth, trachea and lungs, blocking the respiratory tract and suffocating people. (2) Panic and cold cause laryngeal spasm, respiratory obstruction and suffocation. (3) Freshwater drowning, a large amount of water enters the blood, the blood is diluted, hemolysis occurs, and the increase of blood potassium leads to ventricular fibrillation-cardiac arrest; Seawater drowning, high sodium causes the increase of blood osmotic pressure, causes severe pulmonary edema, and leads to heart failure and death.

First aid measures for drowning are as follows:

The specific method of self-help is to take the supine position, head backward, mouth upward, try to make the mouth and nose out of the water and breathe. Exhale shallowly and inhale deeply, because when inhaling deeply, the body's specific gravity is slightly lighter than that of water, so it can surface and wait for rescue. You can also hold your breath and try not to inhale to avoid choking. Don't raise your hand or struggle, because raising your hand will sink. If you drown due to gastrocnemius spasm, call for help immediately, bend your toes and surface on your back.

People who are good at helping each other take off their coats, trousers, shoes and socks as much as possible, swim quickly near the drowning person, advance from the rear, grab his right hand with his left hand or hold his head and drag it to the shore by backstroke, or grab his armpit from his back and push it out. People who can't swim should not directly pull the drowning person by hand, but should find a bamboo pole or rope at the scene to pull him and then drag him ashore, otherwise the drowning person will drag the ambulance personnel into the water.

Medical measures immediately remove the sludge and vomit in the mouth and nose after rescuing the water, and keep the respiratory tract unobstructed. People who clench their teeth press their cheeks on both sides and open them hard. When breathing is weak or has stopped, mouth-to-mouth artificial respiration and chest compressions should be performed immediately. It takes a long time to carry out mouth-to-mouth resuscitation, so don't give up easily, and you can keep oxygen warm. Don't wait for the doctor to arrive or go directly to the hospital without treatment, and lose the precious first rescue opportunity.
