Nick and his brother grew up in a rather bad family environment. Their childhood was accompanied by poverty, abuse and an alcoholic mother. In their memory, the only good memory exists briefly in their younger brother who died shortly after birth. Later, with the complete disintegration of the family, Nick and his brother separated. Years later, 33-year-old Nick just got out of prison. He knows exactly what kind of life he wants: working hard and drinking too much. Only in this way can he temporarily suppress the pain and loneliness of memories and continue to survive in this cruel world. He became a fitness instructor, lived in a shabby hotel on the outskirts of Copenhagen, and occasionally had sex with his female neighbor Sophie, but in his heart, he could not forget his old love for Anna. His younger brother became an addict and a single father. For him, drugs and children Martin are the two most important things in his life. He runs the heroin business on the grounds that he wants his children to live a better life, but no matter how much he loves his son, it is always difficult for an addict to be a good father. He may lose custody of his son at any time, and even Martin will be completely separated.
The two brothers lived mutually exclusive lives in the same city, learned to love, forget and understand, but never gave up looking for each other. However, real life tied them together. Finally, by chance, the lives of the two brothers crossed again, and their reunion turned out to be in prison. It seems too late.
