Who painted the famous head of Genghis Khan?
Shi Shuqing has only two original portraits of Genghis Khan. One was collected by Mr. Shi Shuqing, deputy director of the National Cultural Relics Appraisal Committee and president of the China Collectors Association, at 1953 with a few dollars from the people. At the beginning of 1963, famous experts such as Qi Gong and Shi Shuqing appraised the portrait: after investigating the paper, ink color, characters, inscriptions and pens, they all agreed that it was made by Yuan people. This portrait is collected in the Museum of Chinese History (works of Yuan Dynasty, 58.3 cm long and 40.4 cm wide); Before that, I only saw a copy of the Ming Dynasty (imitation, 59.4 cm long and 47 cm wide), which is now in the National Palace Museum in Taipei. Among these two works, the portrait of Genghis Khan collected by the Chinese History Museum in Beijing is the earliest and the most precious.
