Nevertheless, few people have explained the actual process of "self-reward". I used this method as early as my teens, even when I was in college. As a senior user, I have rich experience, frustration, experience and experience!
My personal experience at that time was that this method was not only not easy to use, but also easy to backfire! That I once hated "self-reward"! Not long ago, after listening to Luo Zhenyu's gamification world, I suddenly realized: it's not that the method is bad, but that I have been using it wrong!
Luo Pang mentioned in his column that one of the reasons for "game addiction" is that it has a clear immediate feedback mechanism. Every time you hit a monster, you will definitely get 100 experience value, and you will never fail. Every achievement will be recorded in the achievement system, and there will be leaderboards and achievements publicity to let players know their progress at any time.
However, in the real world, almost all efforts are likely to bear fruit after a period of accumulation. For example, Luo Pang said that studying hard at a cold window for twelve years can only be verified in three days of the college entrance examination. And the reason why I have no motivation to learn English is because I can't see obvious progress.
Since the reward mechanism can play an addictive role in the game world, it is natural to think that extending it to learning methods will definitely play a significant positive role. But why can't I use it well?
After careful comparison, it is found that the biggest problem lies in the "award"!
If the prize is a necessity, I will buy it back even without these established goals and tasks; If it is a luxury, even if the goal is achieved, I may still hesitate to consider whether it is necessary to buy it. Whether to buy it in the end has little to do with the established goal; If it is a spiritual reward, for example, reward yourself with a movie, two TV dramas, three hours of playing games and four hours of fighting landlords. . . The result is always: I often want to extend my play time when I haven't finished it. If I don't control myself, I may stop planning for the whole day here, even affect my sleep into a vicious circle, and bring emotional depression and loss. . . If you stop forcibly, you always think that you can't enter the learning state for a long time, which seriously affects efficiency. Then I thought gloomily: If I had known this, I might as well continue to enjoy the happiness just now. After this repeated operation, I not only failed to make progress, but became less confident.
There are other questions besides "prizes", so I won't go into them here. However, after such analysis, combined with the mechanism of the game, I finally found a practical way to use "self-reward".
The first step is to determine the mission objectives. The amount of tasks should not be too heavy, and we should do what we can.
There is a saying: people always overestimate their short-term ability and underestimate their long-term persistence. If the task is too large, it often leads to failure, which will inevitably hurt self-confidence and subjective initiative. Therefore, do a good job of goal decomposition, break down the big task into small goals to be done every day, and start with small goals. After successful implementation for a period of time, appropriately increase the amount of tasks, while paying attention to "degree";
For example, fitness, my goal is to shape the perfect body. Tasks are divided into two categories: aerobic exercise and equipment. Aerobic exercise is further divided into two categories: running and cycling, and running is broken down into my daily schedule. I usually run on the treadmill, so I set the speed and time directly on the display screen, and then I just need to stamp my feet on the track. This kind of stupid operation is equivalent to relaxing the brain, but you will be tired after running for a long time. Lazy people like me want to stop in less than ten minutes. I later stipulated to myself that running 12 minutes is the completion of the task. Then I found that I often insist on 12 minutes or more, which seems to have the feeling that "I earned those minutes for nothing".
The second step is to establish an alternative prize pool. The setting of prizes should be a complete and one-off category. And it is suggested that we should focus on the material category rather than the spiritual category, and never do something that will take a lot of time.
After learning that I was addicted to watching TV series, I changed my reward to watching movies. But as a result, the movie ended, and I was disappointed, thinking, how did it end so soon? Then I will start a long task period ~ ~ ~ Maybe those study tasks were not boring before, but they affected my enjoyment of TV, so I became more and more exclusive.
It is more feasible to give some tangible material encouragement than to take up a lot of time. For example: a dress, a Haagen-Dazs, a cake, a long-awaited bag and so on.
For physical prizes, we should also pay attention to: the value of prizes should not be too large, and it is best to get them easily. Don't let the task lose control of prizes, as mentioned above.
For me: the latest mobile phone, computer, world-famous bags and other things may not be bought once a year. The original intention of setting prizes is to achieve their goals and get satisfaction as much as possible, so prizes will inevitably get more opportunities, and too few prizes obviously cannot achieve their goals.
Since you need so many prizes, you might as well build yourself an alternative prize library! -after determining the daily tasks, at the same time, choose a small gift from the library that makes you feel excited, and feel happy when you think about it!
For alternative prizes that can be put into storage, it is suggested to follow the following basic principles:
1, the price of the prize is equivalent to the price of a working meal. If the prize you want exceeds this amount, you can get it by completing the task in two days. But at present, the cumulative time cannot exceed three days, that is, the prize amount cannot exceed the money of three working meals.
2. Prizes can be combined with daily necessities. For example, I was going to the supermarket to buy yogurt. Usually the price of yogurt I drink is neither high nor low. This time I added the value of the prize and bought a more expensive brand.
3, simply choose what you like, regardless of other people's feelings or comments. "Will buying Kawaii's hairpin be laughed at, act young?" This kind of worry is completely unnecessary. If you are really afraid of what others say, put it in the drawer and admire yourself.
What should I do if I buy a lovely mug and my husband complains that there are too many sundries at home? This is my prize! Isn't it too unhappy that you can't make your own decisions about a small meal?
4. Try to avoid those prizes that may bring you subsequent adverse effects. I am not keen on junk food, so if I choose food as a prize, I will take the initiative to choose a healthier diet. If you are a friend who likes fried chicken wings, you should pay attention to the right amount. If you eat too much, I'm afraid you have to spend more time and energy on fitness, which is not worth the candle!
According to the above four principles, I gave out some treasures in my alternative prize pool:
Haagen-Dazs ice cream single ball 1
Lillian egg tart 2.
Sweet shop 1 time
9-inch durian pizza 1 (three missions)
Fresh corn juice 1 cup
Add 2 boxes of yogurt.
My favorite exquisite diary 1.
Two beautiful gel pens.
1 Decorative painting (two tasks)
Take a taxi to the subway (ten minutes from the subway, willful ~)
Ask the hourly worker to clean 1 time (2 tasks)
. . . . . .
My alternative prize pool is still expanding, and new treasures are added every day. In the process of building a library, I got more fun!
The third step is to establish a feedback mechanism, that is, to establish a list of achievements for yourself. This skill was actually learned in the special training camp of Angel.
Perfect your achievement list before going to bed every day, just like in the game, you can not only see your points/experience values, but also check your treasure house every time you log in to the game account to see what goods you have now and how much you need to upgrade or exchange. Looking at your list of achievements, you can not only get satisfaction, but also remind yourself at all times: what advantages do you have now and how much effort do you need to put on a label? Or how far is it from realization? Or let yourself think: what comprehensive strength can these advantages add up to?
You can try! Believe me, you will gain not only the satisfaction of achieving your goals, but also endless happiness!
