I'm an animation student, and I'm not very clear about the curve of the figure's waist. Do you have any books about the curves of people's spines?
There is no textbook on this subject, but I can tell you that the hip bone comes first, followed by the chest. The joints of the spine are like the whole arm, the elbow is like the hip bone, and the wrist is like the chest. Wrist rotation can affect the elbow, but it has little effect on the shoulder. Shoulder movement drives the wrist, and the spine is just a few more joints than the arm. The transmission gradually decreases (rotation and displacement) from the source to the end, with a certain lag. If you adjust maya animation, you can only adjust more.
