Beriberi is a common name for tinea pedis. Some people confuse beriberi with beriberi, which is wrong. Medical beriberi is a systemic disease caused by vitamin B deficiency, and beriberi is a common skin disease caused by fungal infection. The footbath and foot towel should be used separately to avoid infecting others. If athlete's foot is not treated in time, it will sometimes spread to other parts, such as tinea manus and onychomycosis, and sometimes it will be scratched because of itching, and secondary bacterial infection will cause serious complications. Medicine usually divides beriberi into three types: erosive beriberi, vesicular beriberi and keratotic beriberi.
1. erosive type: it occurs between the third and fourth toes and between the fourth and fifth toes. When the toes first get wet, white or small blisters appear. When drying and peeling, the desquamation place is wet, red and itchy, which is easy to cause secondary infection.
2. blister type: it occurs at the edge of the foot. At first, there are small blisters with full wall thickness, and some can be merged into large blisters. The blister liquid is transparent and there is no blush around it. Self-conscious itching often leads to erysipelas and lymphangitis due to secondary infection after scratching.
3. Keratinization type: occurs in the heel. The main manifestations are thick and dry skin, keratinization, desquamation, itching and easy chapping. This type has no blister and suppuration, and the course of disease is slow, and it will not heal for many years. Basically, it is a skin problem, which is generally harmless and does not affect the height.
