Standing at Xing Zi Station, looking ahead, the lake turned into a green land. The water level has dropped many times, and several large ships have stopped on the lake, making it difficult to set sail. The lakeside grassland, which can only be seen around June 5438+ 10, is now lush and has become a tourist attraction, attracting a large number of tourists.

The extreme drought in Poyang Lake in 2022 is an extreme climate event under the background of global warming, and it is still dominated by dry and high pressure climate. Because tropical high-pressure tongs have controlled the Yangtze River basin for more than 40 days, there is a lack of cold air in the north and south, and the influence of offshore typhoons is limited, resulting in high temperature and less precipitation. From October to June in 2022, the rainfall in Poyang Lake Basin was 12 19mm, which was 7% higher than the average level in previous years, but the total rainfall in July and August was only 132mm, which was 54% less than that in previous years. At the same time, the high temperature caused the evaporation of Poyang Lake to be more than 70% higher than before this year, which led to the rapid decline of water level. The drinking water safety of 3.59 million urban residents and 440,000 rural residents along the lake has been affected to varying degrees, among which duchang county, Lushan City and Hukou County, which directly take water from Poyang Lake, involve more than one million people.
