Spice girl (Japanese: ギャル, English: Gyaru, Gal) originated from Japanese street culture and refers to women who are sensitive to fashion trends. Its etymology is English girl. It began in A.D. 1970, when women wore fashionable clothes.
Spice girls are mainly used to address 10 ~ 20-year-old women who wear "spice girls' clothes". In the 1990' s, such female high school students were specifically called "little spice girls", while women of this generation were called "spice girls" if they kept their original hobbies and grew up, regardless of age.
When people mention spice girls, they will imagine that their hair is usually tan or light-colored, wearing uniforms, bubble socks and shoes without shoelaces.
