Basic steps of Irish tap dance

Irish tap dance is full of jumping, liveliness and cheerfulness because it retains the body movements and dance steps in Irish folk dance: the upper body is basically upright, the footwork is mainly calf movements, and the arm movements are simple, mostly linear movements. Let me show you the basic steps of Irish tap dancing!

Two-beat three-step method

A. feet together, forefoot apart.

B. Right foot forward, toes pointing to the ground, first beat, sole forward (outside), second beat sole backward (inside), repeat and speed up.

C. repeat the exercise with your left foot and right foot.

Three-beat three-step method

A. Starting from the right foot, the first beat, brush in front of the sole, the second beat, brush behind the sole, and the third beat. Repeat and accelerate.

B.repeat the exercise with your left foot and right foot.

Four-beat three-step method

A. Starting from the right foot, the first beat, brushing in front of the sole of the foot, the second beat, brushing behind the sole of the foot, the third beat, clicking the sole of the foot, the fourth beat (the third beat is to lift the left foot at the same time), repeat and speed up.

B.repeat the exercise with your left foot and right foot.

The fourth three-step method

A. Starting from the right foot, the first beat, brushing before the sole of the foot, the second beat, brushing after the sole of the foot (brushing the back foot without landing), the third beat, jumping with the left foot, repeating and accelerating.

B.repeat the exercise with your left foot and right foot.

Note: Irish tap dancing starts with the right foot.
