Wearing orthokeratology lens for a long time, how to better care for the mirror?
Orthokeratology lens will be polluted by protein, grease, dust and other substances in tears during its use, which will cause bad irritation to eyes, affect the optical performance of the lens and reduce the correction effect of the lens. Therefore, the quality of lens cleaning care is directly related to the curative effect and life of orthokeratology lens, and whether it causes harm to eyes. Patients and their families must attach great importance to the health of glasses, care for glasses in strict accordance with the operating procedures, improve their awareness of self-protection, cultivate good personal hygiene habits, try to choose a nursing solution with good cleaning effect and deproteinization effect, and use a special lens box for hard lenses.

When people talk about nursing, they often simply think that it is disinfection, but it is not entirely true. Disinfection plays an important role in the whole nursing operation because it is closely related to the safety of wearing glasses.

Washing and rinsing

Lenses need to be cleaned and rinsed before wearing and after taking off, especially after taking off and before storing.

First, clean your hands, take out the lens, put it in your palm, with the concave surface of the lens facing upward and the palm slightly bent, and drop 3-5 drops of all-purpose nursing liquid (pay attention to completely invert the bottle every time you use the nursing liquid to prevent the liquid from being infected by the bottle mouth), then rub it with the index finger or middle finger of the main hand for about 20 times, then clamp the lens with the thumb, index finger and middle finger of the main hand, and rinse the inner and outer surfaces of the lens with cold boiled water. In the process of cleaning, contact lenses are often accidentally lost. In order to prevent the lens from being washed away, the sewer must be blocked. You can't observe in the light until the lenses are washed clean. If the lens is smooth and transparent, it means that the lens has been cleaned. If not, you should continue cleaning.

When there are many pollutants attached to the lens, the lens can be cleaned with strong cleaning solution, and the abrasive for grinding the lens can be combined with cleaning agent. However, this treatment can only be carried out by professional technicians in fitting hospitals or factories to ensure that the curvature and diopter of lenses will not change.

Orthokeratology lens preservation

Orthokeratology lenses must be placed in a special storage box for hard contact lenses to prevent scratching the lenses. The nursing liquid in the mirror box should be able to immerse the lens, mainly containing surfactants and preservatives, and has the functions of cleaning, disinfecting and preserving the lens. The nursing solution in the mirror box needs to be changed daily and cannot be reused. After taking out the lens, rinse the preservation solution thoroughly with cold boiled water. The soaking time of each lens is not less than 6 hours.

If you don't wear lenses for a long time, change the nursing solution in the lens box at least once a week. Mirror boxes for storage should also be cleaned daily and disinfected once a week.

Common sense of nursing liquid use

At present, most of the contact lens care solutions sold in the market are special for soft contact lenses and cannot be used for cleaning and preserving orthokeratology lenses. The special nursing solution for orthokeratology mirror is a multifunctional nursing solution with deproteinization function.

The biggest advantage of multifunctional nursing liquid is that it integrates the components required in each step into a whole, and the above steps can be completed only by using a bottle of nursing liquid, so as to achieve the purposes of cleaning, moisturizing, disinfection and removing protein precipitate. At the same time, due to the combination of links, the types of nursing are reduced, and the chance of lens contamination is also reduced.
