A "Soul-stirring" Nutrition Lecture
Children's height has always been a concern of parents, regardless of their height.

Parents whose children are below the normal range need not say anything. Look at that little figure, don't mention how anxious it is! Parents with tall parents, when they see that their children are not taller than normal people as expected, will keep asking themselves: Why hasn't TA grown taller? Parents whose parents are not tall can't stop worrying about whether their children will grow taller in the future, even if their children's height has been within the normal development range.

If you are a little concerned about the height of your child, what a coincidence! I have been worried about my eldest brother's height until now. Then, I finally learned some nutrition knowledge in a nutrition lecture the other day.

Does a child's height only depend on heredity? Besides heredity, what other factors affect a child's height? What should we do to help pull out a child? Next, let's discuss it together!

1, a formula: how to calculate the genetic height?

Boy height = (father height cm+ mother height cm+ 12)/2

Girl height = (father height cm+ mother height cm+ 12)/2

Make a small summary:

If you want to predict how tall your child will grow in the future, you can predict it by formula. For example, my two eldest sons will grow to 169cm in the future, which seems not good!

What about the next two pictures? First of all, we find the quantile according to the genetic height calculated earlier, that is, which quantile line is the height of 18 years old.

According to my family's calculation, my two sons will be in the 25th percentile of height in the future. What do you mean? In 100 men, 74 are taller than them, and only 25 are shorter than them. Speaking of which, please allow me to cry alone for a while. ...

Next, let's look at the height of the current age corresponding to the quantile line where the genetic height is located. Take my Xiaoqi as an example. The height of 3 years and 3 months corresponding to the 25-point line is 95cm. Comparing his current height of 98cm, we can see that his actual development is better than the genetic index.

So through the above picture, we can roughly calculate whether the child's current development is within the normal range. If it develops well and exceeds the genetic level, it shows that our feeding method is reasonable. If the development is not satisfactory, it is lower than the genetic level, which means that attention should be paid! Adjust the feeding method as soon as possible!

Parents' expectations for their children are always higher than the sky! Good development, parents want their children to grow taller, 180 is the minimum standard! Not to mention the general motivation for development and catching up.

It is not impossible for children to grow up to their own satisfaction, and everything is possible!

How can we get what we want?

3. Several misunderstandings: Don't let your inherent thinking limit your child's height.

Myth 1: When parents are tall, children are tall. Parents are short, so are children.

Truth: What is passed on to children is only the height range with a difference of 6.5 cm from top to bottom. Environmental factors are equally important to children's height!

Myth 2: Some children grow up early, while others grow up late, so don't worry so much.

Truth: It all depends on bone age. In the case of good nutritional status, the chances of late growth are very small.

Normal children grow 5-7 cm every year after 2 years old. Has our child reached it?

4. What should I do: Want my child to grow taller? No problem! Are parents ready?

1) Look at the score of the child's height and weight against the standard table.

2) What is the difference between the expected height score and the actual height score?

3) Whether the growth rate is normal or appropriate.

4) How is the genetic potential brought into play?

5) How does weight affect height?

6) Grow early or grow late

7) Determine the intervention plan for height improvement.

5. Measurement knowledge: Accurate measurement is very important. It is worrying enough just to see that the height is not ideal. Don't let yourself feel like riding a roller coaster every day because of the measurement error.

1) Weighing at a fixed time every week: Weighing after urinating in the morning.

2) Measure the height at a fixed time every month: the height will be measured in the morning than in the afternoon. The first test is in the morning, and you should get up early later. It doesn't matter whether you take the exam this afternoon, as long as you have a strong heart, even if you find that you haven't grown up for a month, you won't cry.

3) Every measurement is measured and recorded by the same person and measuring tool, and the results measured by different people will have errors, and the measuring tool is the same.

6, how to analyze the measurement results: targeted, in order to practice the skills of a hundred shots. Only by analyzing where the problem lies can we intervene the height of children in a targeted way.

1) As mentioned earlier, first of all, according to the child's current height, we judge the current development status:

Corresponding to the current height and genetic height, we will draw some conclusions:

A. Current height level = genetic height level: environmental factors have no effect on the height of children, or they are in a state of stocking or health care is not in place.

B current height level > genetic height level: environmental factors promote children's height.

C. Current height and weight (slim type): it is beneficial to grow taller, but not early.
