Some thoughts on family science experiment

I have participated in several small scientific experiments organized by parents in children's classes, and I have organized one myself. I have some small feelings and thoughts to share with you.

My children especially like to visit and play with the children. On the day of doing the small experiment, we invited some classmates. The children were very happy, playing with toys and playing hide-and-seek. Even the shallots on the balcony attracted everyone's attention. I found that the children were close and had a good time before, but the relationship was not particularly close. By playing toys and games together, we found more similarities between each other. Maybe that's how close friendships are sometimes built.

Do small scientific experiments, I think the choice is more interesting, make children feel curious, and the topic that attracts children to play again and again is more appropriate. I think doing scientific experiments is mainly to cultivate children's observation, curiosity and practical ability. I think scientific experiments are fun, science comes from life, science is around us and so on. My son is very interested in the universe and so on. This time I chose a little game related to the universe-the change of the moon. The moon is familiar to children and will not feel distant and profound. In the process of doing it, the interaction between children is very good. I think this kind of interaction is very important and can stimulate children's curiosity and imagination. Some children are not interested in it, but they will be interested in interacting with their partners. * * * The same interests will make children add more fun in their usual play.

What principles will I follow in the process of doing experiments? First of all, I will make preparations before the experiment, so as not to mislead the children because of insufficient preparation during the experiment. Before the experiment begins, I will keep my children away from snacks and toys. During the experiment, I usually ask the following questions. 1, what the children saw, felt, or found any changes, etc. And encourage each child to describe as much as possible (so there will be more interaction). 2. What is the reason? Encourage every child to participate. 3. Let each child take turns to do small experiments. 4. What do these phenomena have to do with our life? 5. Who discovered this phenomenon? How did you find it? Of course, different questions will be asked according to the content of the experiment, but I think asking as many questions as possible and thinking together will inspire the children. Perhaps unconsciously, the children will become active and ask many questions themselves. For example, my son and I played a game about magnets. This experiment is very interesting. I asked him what magnetic games have to do with our lives. My son immediately thought of magnetic levitation. Before doing the experiment, the children were interested in magnetic levitation, but they had no idea. After completing this experiment, as long as my son sees something about magnetic levitation in a book or newspaper, he will be very interested in reading it and will go to the field to observe and study it.

The above are some small experiences, and I hope you can exchange more guidance.
