Yoga is a Sanskrit transliteration, the general name of the secret department. According to the explanation of Master Deji of Baohua Mountain in the early Qing Dynasty, it refers to "the hands are tied, the truth is recited, the mind is focused, the body and mouth are integrated, the symbol of mouth and mind, and the mind and body will correspond, so it is called yoga". The flame mouth is the name of the ghost king in the hungry ghost road, which is deliberately translated as "flame mouth" because of its spitting flame; It can also be understood as face fire, and can also be translated as "burning face". It is said that Guanyin bodhisattva changed it, so it is also called the master of burning face.
According to Buddhist scriptures, the origin of the crater: Ananda was meditating in the forest when he saw a hungry ghost, thin and ugly, with a needle-like throat and a fire on his face. He said to Ananda, "I was stingy and greedy before I died, and I fell into the hungry ghost road and became like this." Food turns to charcoal in the mouth, so I am hungry all the year round. But three days later, "you will also fall into the hungry ghost road and become like me." After being frightened, Ah Ch 'ou hurried to the Buddha and begged for salvation. Buddha said: "If you can feed many hungry ghosts, you will not be aborted, but you will live longer and be lucky when things happen." Ananda asked about the method of giving food, and the Buddha said the "Flame Mouth Sutra" for him. Since then, the hungry ghost has turned over by casting a flame.
The ceremony of releasing Yankou was originally based on the Ritual Sutra of Yoga Saving Anan Toronyi and the Method of Giving Hungry Ghosts Food and Water. At the end of the Tang Dynasty, the esoteric religion was lost in the Han Dynasty in China, and the eating ceremony was also lost, but it was impossible to recover it in the Song Dynasty. In the Yuan Dynasty, this method was introduced from Tibet to the Han Dynasty, so the practice of feeding by flame mouth was repeated. In the Ming Dynasty, the secret Zen master compiled a book called Eating Tans Yoga Collection, which is called The Secret Flame Mouth. Later, the book was revised repeatedly in practice. Among them, the integrated and revised Collection of Ways to Eat the Flame Mouth of Yoga was compiled by Deji, a master of Baohua Mountain in the thirty-second year of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty (1693), and was called Huashan Flame Mouth in history. Most of the instruments used in modern Han Buddhism temples are taken from Huashan Rock Mouth, but there are differences between the north and the south, and there are similarities and differences in phonology and tone.
The casting of flame mouth is often combined with mourning for the dead in funeral, which is called "Yin flame mouth". The living also have disasters. If flame is used to prolong life, it is called "Yang Yan Kou". In addition, temples are perfect in major ceremonies, and some of them are full of flames. In the past, the opening of the flame could be held in temples, lay people or public places, but now it is generally held in the main hall of temples.
Flame throwers are all carried out at dusk or night, which usually takes more than four hours to complete. Before doing anything, you must set up a yoga altar in the temple, with the main altar in the middle and the auxiliary altars on both sides. The mage sitting on the main altar is called the seat master, also known as Confucius. During practice, Master King Kong wore a cassock and a pilu hat, and there were bells, rulers and incense burners on the case. There is usually a large cloth screen with a lion painted on the back. Altars are arranged on two rows of vertical tables. Monks sit face to face in cassock, with their own introductions, wooden fish, cymbals and tambourines on the table. The number of monks who become monks shall not be less than 7, usually 13 to 15.
Outside the main hall, there is an altar for monks to burn, and Chen Fang's incense sticks are enshrined on the altar. The altar of the Taoist priest was also burned by the ghost king. It looks fierce and ugly, with three flames in its mouth. Some are made of paper, some are painted, and some are just for memorial tablets. Now most temples don't need paper-tied statues of tuas. There is an over-recommender's tablet on the altar, which reads "Buddhism over-recommends someone to go to the lotus position". Spirit tablet is somewhat arbitrary, because a flame can be cast by many people at the same time. Yoga altar, burning face altar and spiritual altar are the three necessary shrines of "Yin Yan Mouth", while "Yangyankou" has no spiritual altar.
At the beginning of Shiyan Pass, Guru King Kong led the monks to sing "Yang Zhi Shui Jing Zan", and then opened the altar. The host chanted "Xiangzan" and burned incense in front of the yoga altar. Vegetarians (also known as sages and benefactors, that is, people who have rendered meritorious service to the deceased) offer incense and worship in the order of monks and customs. The host, monks and vegetarians burned incense on the altar, and the monks recited Heart Sutra, Death Curse, Change the Truth of Eating, Ode to Lotus Pond and Amitabha. Then go to the altar to burn incense, recite the great compassion mantra, change the food mantra, and sing Guanyin.
Monks went to the altar, spread out scriptures, attacked those in power, and opened books to sing peace. Generally, it is the first sentence of the lead singer, such as "Yoga is the best way to start yoga", and all the monks sing the next sentence, such as "Huang Jue hangs down to benefit people" and often sings the name of the Bodhisattva, as well as the six-character mantra. When chanting, the host writes a seal in his hand and thinks thoughtfully. These handprints are illustrated in the mouth of yoga flame, including magic seal, magic seal, fire wheel seal, vacuum seal, empty seal, heart seal, food seal, Guanyin meditation seal and hell seal.
In order to honor the deceased, the Lord rang the bell to burn incense, and asked the Bodhisattva, the leader of the nether world, to lead all kinds of lonely souls of the deceased and the Lord to meet in this Dojo: Call with all my heart.
There are many ghosts of the former Empress Bo: the emperors of the tired dynasty, the emperors of the past dynasties, the princes of a generation, the mountains and rivers of Wan Li. Heroes, generals and other lonely souls. : Build altars to worship the generals, build festivals to seal the marquis, move the golden tripod and thousand hooks, and grow into a city of Wan Li. Frost and cold leopard account, hard work; The wind and smoke are empty, and the dragon is looking down. Oh! Where is the general's horse now? Weeds are idle and flowers are everywhere!
With one heart and one mind, the ghosts of civil servant Zaifu are waiting for many people: five tombs are talented, one hundred counties are virtuous, and Tomb-Sweeping Day has been an official for three years and dedicated himself to the Lord. Zhounan North County, far away from Mulberry's hometown; The ends of the earth are far from Penglai Island. Alas, the official rustles with the flowing water, and the soul apricot is every other day;
Literati unite as one, raising children's lonely souls, and so on: Hongmen gifted scholar, Baijia scholar, Lin Wen exploring flowers; Shooting and swimming in the spinal hospital. It takes only three years for fluorescent lamps to fly away; An iron inkstone wears through, and a sword wears out every ten years. Oh! Seven-legged red uncle Luo surname, a loess cover!
I wholeheartedly call on farmers to release their children's inspiration and others: the staff sergeant who came out of the dust, the monk who flew to tin, the man who refined the five precepts and kept clean, and the monks and nuns of the party line. Yellow flowers and bamboo, empty talk about secrets; Baxter is a slave, but he plays the role of bitter emptiness. Oh! Cold soaking through the window in the middle of the night, the Zen room lights up in the middle of the night!
Call on you wholeheartedly, the far spirit of the mysterious Taoist priest and others: Huang Guan is also a guest, feather suits the fairy stream, Taoyuandong cultivates the truth, and Langyuanzhou cultivates nature before. Three flowers and nine refinements, Cao Tian does not allow the name; Four impermanence, the hell is hard to accommodate. Oh! The canopy frost is cold, the stove is cold, the altar wind is miserable, and the apricot flowers are sparse!
I am committed to inviting the ghosts of foreign tourists: traveling all over the rivers and lakes, doing business all over the country, marching to Wan Li for money, and trading with thousands of dollars. The wind and rain are unexpected, and I am in the belly of a fish; The road is hard to prevent. The risk of death. Oh! The spirit of stagnation follows the ghost of the north, and the guest soul travels eastward!

At the beginning of the drum, the gold shakes and the abdomen breaks in an instant; You can only score if you win and change, and all your limbs are broken. Oh! The desert sand smells ghosts crying, and few people collect bones!

The clouds are closed, and the soul disappears into Jingu Garden; The moon is short of flowers and heartbroken. Oh! The past is gone, and the grass is cold!
Calling with one heart, the ghosts who are violent will wait for the crowd; Beggars who were hungry and cold were punished and imprisoned, and they were hurt by fire and water, and died when they met a tiger pervert. Taking poison by hanging beam, complaining for a thousand years; Lightning strikes the cliff and collapses, which is a little shocking. Oh! Sunset rain, cooking smoke, cold magpie noise, autumn wind, yellow leaves, crows flying!
These twelve invitations can be said to be short and pithy eulogies, eulogizing with beautiful words. These twelve kinds of lonely souls sum up the souls of all the dead in the world. After Guru King Kong invited them, he sprinkled manna on them and gave them food. The souls of the relatives of the fasting Lord have been crossed over. Then, in chanting, the paper figurines or memorial tablets of the face-burning monk and the memorial tablets on the altar were burned, and candy was thrown as offerings, and everyone competed for it to show the perfection of merit. Finally, the monks got up, sang "Hui Dai" together, bowed to the Lord, and the ceremony was over.
