Brief introduction of the virgin Mary

Maria (Hebrew, miriam, miriam; ; Latin Maria; ; English Mary, Catholic translation for Maria; Mary's Protestant translation; About 18 BC-4 1 year AD), was born in Galilee in northern Israel, and Nazareth was the mother of Jesus Christ.

All the stories related to the Virgin Mary are mostly recorded in the gospels of the New Testament, among which the Gospel of Luke records more than other gospels. Some of them are recorded in the episode of Acts of the New Testament. Other stories and legends come from the early church. The gospel of Luke in the New Testament began when Mary accepted the angel's prophecy of the birth of Jesus. According to records, when she was a girl, she was engaged to a man named Yue Se (translated by Protestantism as Yue Se, who was said to have been born in 90 BC and died from 3 to 18). Later, she was invited by angels, so she was invited by the Holy Spirit. According to the Holy Spirit of the New Testament, apart from the early apostles, Mary also played a very special role in the missionary work of Jesus and the establishment of the early church. Because of this, Maria became the most important female figure in Christianity, and was highly respected from the early days of the establishment of the Christian church, and was later called "Virgin Mary" and "Blessed Virgin Mary".

Within Christianity, both the Orthodox Church and the Catholic Church believe that Mary was sent to the world by God, especially for the birth of Jesus, so she is innocent and different from other human beings. After her death, Maria ascended to heaven and became a mediator saint who could pray for forgiveness on behalf of others (similar to the intermediary and arbiter between God and man). Theologian Ludwig. Ludwig Ott (A.D. 1906- 1985) believes that Maria is a symbol of human obedience compared with Eve's temptation to Adam to commit a crime.

There have been some different views on Mary's status, mainly from Catholicism and Protestantism. At the second Catholic Vatican Conference, theologians involved had two different views on this issue. One thinks that Mary is a noble redeemer, the mother of God, and in the same position as Christ. Apart from exaggerating Mary's role, this view lacks biblical basis. The other lowered Maria's status to the world, thinking that she was a perfect redeemed and a typical church. The above two views actually reflect the different positions of the two Catholic churches in interpreting Maria's role in the church. Compared with the Catholic Church, Protestantism only recognizes Mary as Jesus' biological mother on earth, does not accept the Catholic view that Mary's innocence can be used as a mediator, and even denies her innocence. Nevertheless, Protestants still believe that Mary has pious virtues and is especially favored by God.

In addition, apart from the different positions mentioned above, Catholicism can be mainly divided into the following points:

1. Maria is the mother of God.

Protected by the Holy Spirit, she never lost her virginity.

What is different is that she has no original sin, is full of grace, and avoids all sins.

4. Mediator of Christ's grace.

5. Body and soul ascend to heaven together.

6. The symbol is lily, which represents purity.

But as far as plant symbols are concerned, besides lily, there are at least 20 kinds of plants that can symbolize Mary, including lotus, violet and rose. Among them, the plant most closely related to Mary's tribute is "rose", so sometimes Mary is also called "Madonna of Rose" and "metaphysical rose".

One phenomenon that Mary is noticed by contemporary people is "the appearance of the Virgin Mary". There have been rumors about the appearance of the Virgin Mary since early Christianity, but in short, there were many rumors about the appearance of the Virgin Mary from the middle of19th century to the 20th century. World-famous figures/kloc-0 appeared in Ludwig, France in 858 and 19 17 in Fatima, Portugal. Both of them were identified after investigation by the Catholic Church. As for Christianity, other sects hold reservations or negative attitudes.

There was a rumor in Taiwan Province Province that the Virgin appeared in Wufeng Banner of Jiaoxi Township in Yilan, but it was not recognized by the Vatican. Besides, Wanqin Notre Dame Cathedral, located in Wanjin Village, Wanluan Township, Pingtung County, is one of the two large temples (a Catholic church with a special status) in Taiwan Province Province. Now it is a national third-class historic site with special historical and religious value.

The significance of the Virgin Mary in contemporary Christianity is not only discussed in Christian theology, but also related to monotheism and European culture, paternal religion and matriarchal religion, cultural psychological prototype and other related issues, which has multiple and complex hierarchical connotations.
