The clubhouse has been built for nearly a hundred years. Due to frequent changes in residents and unattended management, the damaged buildings have not been repaired in time and are very dilapidated. In March, 2006, some of the walls on the east side of the guild hall were hit by heavy rain continuously because of cracks, and the walls collapsed. A fire broke out again in August, but fortunately the main cultural relics in the museum were not damaged. Afterwards, the Taijiang District Government listed the renovation of Gutian Guild Hall as a private practical project, demolished and resettled the original houses of the Guild Hall, and raised more than 2.2 million yuan, which was contracted by Fujian Jingxiang Construction Engineering Co., Ltd., and carried out rescue restoration of the Guild Hall according to the principle of "repairing the old as the old". The restoration project lasted for two years and has now been completed, giving the hall a new look.
