The new RS6 was developed by the high-performance department of Audi Quattro, equipped with a 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbo engine and a full-time four-wheel drive system. This engine is also used to equip S6 and S7. After re-adjustment, the power of 552 bhp can be generated between 5700 and 6700 rpm, and the maximum torque of 5 16 lb-ft (about 699 Nm) can be obtained as low as 1750 rpm, and the maximum torque can be maintained at 5500 rpm.
In terms of energy-saving technology, Audi not only provides RS6 with an automatic engine start-stop control system, but also introduces variable displacement technology, which can close four cylinders under low load. The top speed of the standard version of RS6 is still controlled by computer at 155 mph (about 250 km/h), and it is increased to 174 mph (about 280 km/h) after the dynamic kit is selected, and it can reach 190 mph (about 306 km/h) if the dynamic enhancement kit is selected. Despite the amazing speed, Audi said that the fuel economy of the new generation RS6 is 30% higher than that of the old V 10 engine, and the carbon dioxide emission is only 229 grams per kilometer.
The air suspension of Audi RS6 is 20mm lower than that of S6, and it is equipped with active stepless adjustable damping shock absorber. Audi provides a set of sports suspension kits for new cars, which match the traditional steel coil spring and DRC dynamic ride comfort control, as well as a variable damping system with diagonal correlation automatic adjustment (three modes).
As for the braking system, Audi has provided a lightweight braking system for RS6, which consists of a 390mm front brake disc and six-piston calipers, and provided a carbon fiber ceramic brake disc with a diameter of 420mm as an option. 20-inch forged alloy wheels are standard, and more sporty 2 1 inch wheels are optional.
The kerb quality of the new Audi RS6 is lighter than that of the old one 100 kg, which is due to the use of aluminum alloy body panels. The new MLB platform partially uses aluminum alloy materials in the front structural components, which also helps to slim down. In addition, the length of V8 engine is only 500mm, which can bring more ideal axle load distribution than V 10 engine.
The most obvious difference between the front design of the new car and the old one lies in the air intake grille. Although the air intake grille of the new car is still divided into two parts, the bottom area is much narrower, with aluminum alloy decorative frame and the word "Quattro" with three-dimensional effect. It is expected that this new design will be popularized in Audi's high-performance cars.
Like other Quattro high-performance models, Audi RS6 was independently developed by Quattro department, and had a 5,000-mile (about 8,046 km) road test at newberg-Berlin circuit before it was put into production. Quattro also has an independent production line in Naikalsum, Germany.
The Quattro department expects that the annual output will reach1.2000 this year, and the previous generation RS6*** with V 10 engine has produced 5500 vehicles.
Audi Quattro has not announced the price of the new car, which is expected to start at 77,000 pounds (about 772,000 yuan).
