Please read Xi Murong's Aestheticism:
I don't like being called an aesthete.
Because, in the interpretation of "aestheticism" by ordinary people, there is usually a sense of escape. It seems that if a person often creates only by fantasy, or what he creates is too unrealistic. When we want to forgive him, we will find some excuses for him, such as that he is an "aesthete" and so on.
Moreover, I have always felt that true aestheticism should start from nature and truth, and discover all the wonderful experiences from life. Such aestheticism is relatively healthy. Because such efforts are a kind of self-help, not a kind of self-deception.
In other words, we face the reality and don't escape. We know that everything is fluid and can't last. However, we should find the purest things under these messy and changeable things, try to pick them out, stay and remember them.
In this way, even if everything in the world changes or disappears gradually, whether it is myself or those objects opposite to me, even if we are all on the way to change and disappear gradually; However, in this world, after all, one thing will not change or disappear. Those things, those things that can't be accurately described and given exact names, are an eternal beauty, eternal hope and eternal self-confidence, which is the only meaning of our existence and continuation.
That is, 900 years later, when we reread Su Shi's article about moonlit boating, we will feel disappointed and beautiful.
We clearly know that it was nine hundred years ago, and we clearly know how many things are gone forever, but we feel that the moonlight that night is no different from tonight's, and the admiration that night is no different from tonight's. The bright light flies by, however, the wonderful experience has completely re-entered our hearts from Su Shi's heart and will not disappear for a long time.
Such aestheticism is the real aestheticism, and it is also the realm that I yearn for in my heart.
