Before the actual test drive of this car, in fact, the news about 10 generation Accord has spread all over the network. In fact, this car was sold in the United States before entering China, and it was well received by American media and consumers, and won the title of "North American Car of the Year" ... With the blessing of various titles, the new Accord made me look forward to it more or less.

It was not until a week before the test drive that it was revealed through the application information of the new Accord that the new Accord that entered China gave up the 10AT gearbox and the 2.0T power version that was widely acclaimed in the United States was not launched ... It was really disappointing to get such news, so will the power combination of 1.5T and CVT greatly reduce the charm of the new Accord? I got the answer after my own test drive.

The official test drive model is 1.5T high-power version, with the tail mark of 260 TURBO. I think everyone is familiar with this engine. The maximum power 143Kw/5500rpm and the maximum torque are 260n61m/1600-5000rpm, which are satisfactory from the data. And this car is not inferior in driving level, not only the book looks so boring.

Is the power of 1.5T enough? Sure! Whether you take it home or for business reception, the feedback from this VTEC turbine engine is sufficient. The torque is low and strong, although the displacement is not large, it gives people a feeling of sufficient reserves at medium and low speeds. But personally, it is strange that although this small-displacement turbocharged engine is indeed as strong and active as expected, the overall driving experience of the new Accord is still dull. I think there are two reasons.

One is CVT gearbox, with mixed feelings.

For the CVT of the new Accord, there are always some people who love and hate it, and the reason is obvious. Because of its special structure, CVT can always work in the best and most economical state, and it is also true that it is more fuel-efficient than ordinary at gearbox. It is suitable for the business/comfort/economic positioning of the previous Accord, but it may not have so many advantages in the 10 generation Accord that emphasizes sports driving control. The characteristics of CVT determine that the new Accord of 1.5T is not a car completely prepared for drivers.

Another reason may be emotional: I personally feel that the transformation of the new Accord in China has not yet been determined.

The new accord has been talking about post-90 s consumers. We can see that its design has begun to cater to the tastes of young people. Since we intend to transform, we must be resolute and thorough. It seems that Honda feels that the new Accord still has a part of business market in China, so the training tends to be comfortable and calm ... This may be the potential reason why I think this car is boring to drive.

Having said that, I don't deny that the new Accord has been completely transformed.

Admittedly, at present, only 10 generation Accord 1.5T CVT is not the ultimate version, but its driving ease has reached a higher level than that of the 9 th or 9.5 th generation models. As long as you don't ask for it like Farah, there is still some fun in driving. Not only from dynamic training, but a series of changes that touch the bones and muscles.

The focus of these changes is low center of gravity and light weight.

The new Accord, which was listed in China, was born on Honda's global platform, with the data of length, width and height of 4893/ 1862/ 1449mm and the wheelbase of 2830mm respectively. Compared with the 9.5-generation Accord, it is wider and shorter (the wheelbase is longer), and the new car also deliberately reduces the driver's sitting posture: the seat height is reduced by 25mm, and the heel position is reduced by 15mm, which makes the driver's sitting posture further backward, thus greatly reducing the driving center of gravity and bringing a better sense of control.

However, some people will ask whether this will affect the driving vision. Actually, don't worry, because the new Accord has a solution. Compared with the old model, the A-pillar area of the new car is reduced by about 20% and moved backwards by100 mm. The whole driving vision is very bright, and the blind area of A-pillar is much better.

In addition to the low center of gravity, "slimming" is also an important change of the new Accord.

The mass of the whole vehicle changed from 1575 kg to 15 19 kg, a decrease of about 56 kg, which not only benefited from the new platform, but also depended on the optimization of its own body structure. The new Accord adopts internal skeleton welding structure, the welding joint technology is optimized, and the roof is welded by laser, so the seam cover strip on the top of the old car can't be seen on the new car.

Although it adopts the same suspension form as the 9.5-generation Accord: front McPherson independent suspension and rear multi-link independent suspension, the structure is different. For example, the classic A-shaped structure is adopted for the lower arm of the front suspension of the 9th generation Accord, but the L-shaped arm is replaced for the lower arm of the front suspension of the 10 generation Accord, and all-aluminum material is adopted, which helps to improve NVH and reduce unsprung weight.

Finally, talk about the design of this generation of Accord.

As an editor in the circle, I have long known that this generation of Accord is likely to have some civic design elements, not so much civic elements as Honda's current family characteristics. A slightly subversive shape may make some old Accord powder unacceptable ... But from the eighth generation to the ninth generation and then to the 9.5 generation, it has to be said that the younger and more sporty Accord is more eye-catching!

Among them, front face is the most typical representative. Although the large chrome-plated decorative strips that run horizontally have made my love for this car return to before liberation overnight, the LED headlights arranged in rows are still very nice.

The design of the rotating taillight is very individual, so I'll tell you this: I still think the taillight design of Civic is ugly!

The slender nose and hatchback design are very Honda, but when you see the interior design of the new Accord, it is calm. Again, Honda has not completely rejuvenated the new Accord, but the interior parts of China and the United States are the same, so there is nothing wrong with it. In short, the new car is so transparent in front of you, and 1.5T+CVT can be used at home. Forget about 2.0T and 10AT, and look forward to the hybrid version.
