Before the newborn is one year old, the sleep changes greatly, from the situation of eating while sleeping at birth to sleeping for 8- 10 hours at night and sleeping for one night. However, what is the change in the middle? What can I pay attention to?

Sleep managers have sorted out three main points of "sleeping situation", "drinking milk" and "good sleep management" in the middle six stages of 0- 1 year-old. We also use the following six pictures to illustrate them:

Birth week 1

Sleep situation:

The baby belongs to the whole sleep stage, the whole sleep stage, or the stage of eating and sleeping, which changes greatly, the total amount of sleep is difficult to estimate, and the sleep is not fixed. It is also a week when novice mothers can't sleep well.

Milk consumption:

Take it once every 1 hour, once every 1 hour or so. Try to stay awake and drink milk. You can open the towel to expose your hands and feet to cool down, or you can caress your baby's body. It is also recommended to turn on the light or talk to the baby. Don't be too quiet

Good sleep management:

Mother's heartbeat and voice. It is familiar and comforting to the baby one week after birth. When the baby is ready to sleep after drinking milk, gently hold it in her arms, let the baby listen to her mother and feel her breath and taste. When sleeping uneasily, we should consider whether the baby is uncomfortable, such as diaper, too hot or too cold, too full stomach, crying due to lack of food, eczema, mosquito bites, etc., which may make the baby sleep uneasily.

Second week

Sleep situation:

It is still an obvious stage of eating and sleeping, but during the day, there may be situations where you don't sleep after eating, and you will wait until the next meal is full, and you may cry, but occasionally you will spend this time obediently.

Milk consumption:

The interval between drinking milk is extended, about every 2 hours, about 40 minutes each time.

Week 3-4

Sleep situation:

At first, it was no longer just Xiaobao who had enough to eat and sleep. The sleep time every day is about 16~ 19 hours, and there may be 1~2 after meals.

Milk consumption:

The interval between drinking milk is about 3 to 4 hours, and occasionally there is an interval of 4 to 5 hours. The speed of drinking milk is slightly faster than that of the previous two weeks, about 30 minutes, but there will still be cases of sleeping while eating. Try to keep the baby awake when drinking milk.

Good sleep management:

The sleep hormone melatonin is not formed. Most babies will start to have melatonin when the pineal gland is mature at 6 weeks old, but the concentration is still very low. At the age of 3 months, melatonin will start to increase at night. At present, the baby of 3-4 weeks can't tell the difference between innocent day and night. Babies are beginning to have their own temperament. Mom and dad can soothe the sleeping baby by listening to music and telling stories, and can also promote the development of the baby's brain.

2-3 months

Sleep situation:

The total sleep time every day is about 15~ 18 hours, and there may be more than 6 episodes of sleep a day, with an average of 4 hours per session. 2-month-old babies will also start to sleep longer at night, and sometimes they may be able to sleep for more than 5 hours continuously; When it is 3 months old, it can be extended to more than 6 hours.

Milk consumption:

The interval of drinking milk is about 4 hours, and the time of drinking milk is about 30 minutes. In the second to third months, babies grow faster. If the last meal is not fed enough, or there is a lot of activity in the middle, it is possible to wake up early. Parents who take care of it should pay more attention.

Good sleep management:

Sleep hormone-melatonin is gradually formed, and the law is that night sleep is extended to more than 5-6 hours. It is necessary to start to establish the division between day (that is, light and activity) and night (darkness and silence). During the day, you can shine more light and sunshine, so that the sunshine can help your baby know that it is daytime, and you can exercise more during the day, and you should also reduce the length of sleep during the day; At night, especially before going to bed, you can dim the lights to form a link that turning off the lights means going to bed.

4-7 months

Sleep situation:

The total sleep time every day is about 13 ~ 17 hours, and I take a nap 2~3 times during the day, each time 1 ~ 3 hours. Take a nap during the day and no more than 3 hours at night. Slowly start to develop a long sleep or concentrate on the night time after sunset.

Milk consumption:

You can sleep for about 8 to 9 hours in a row at night. It is recommended to drink more breast milk before going to bed to increase satiety and prolong sleep time at night. In addition, we also remind everyone that whether a baby can sleep at night depends on the unique temperament of each baby and even the habits of caregivers. We suggest that we can evaluate it this way. If the baby's sleep time has gradually increased, it is actually moving towards a night's sleep!

Don't think that babies can sleep for 8 hours soon. This unreasonable belief may increase the pressure on novice parents! (Note: If the principle of using formula milk before going to bed is needed, we will arrange it together in the text of August-1February. )

Good sleep management:

Start looking for the baby's "sleep password", and then cooperate with the appeasement ceremony, you can sleep peacefully at ordinary times, without waiting for the "fatigue signal" to appear before going to sleep!

The "sleep code" is like:

Slow motor response: slow limbs, weak sucking, less motor response: decreased voice, decreased interest in the surrounding environment, physiological characteristics of drowsiness: yawning, drooping eyelids, listlessness, etc.

"Fatigue signal" such as:

Waving limbs, scratching face or pulling ears, fidgeting, crying, rubbing eyes too much, fidgeting.

8- 12 months

Sleep situation:

The total sleep time every day is about 12~ 16 hours, and there will be two obvious sleep periods during the day. You can arrange a nap 1~2 hours in the morning and a nap 1~2 hours in the afternoon. If the baby needs another nap, it is recommended that the other nap time should not exceed half an hour.

Milk consumption:

You can sleep 10~ 14 hours continuously at night, and it is also recommended to drink more before going to bed. If you are a breast-fed baby, you may be advised to smoke more times. Don't reduce the amount just because the baby goes to bed or wants the baby to go to bed early, but also consider the balance between supply and demand of breast milk. At first, if you don't smoke more, you may drink more. In addition, breast milk will make your baby absorb and digest faster, or you will be hungry faster, so you can drink more.

It will be suggested here that if the baby is not breast-fed, the formula can be changed before going to bed, or the way of breast milk and formula can make the formula that needs more time to digest prolong the next hunger.

Good sleep management:
