All normal down jackets are made of duck down, which is crushed and sterilized at high temperature. Down content actually refers to the degree of fragmentation. The international first-class standard of duck down is duck down with a down content of more than 90%. At present, the maximum crushing rate of the machine can only reach 90%, and the remaining 10% is duck down which is not completely crushed, commonly known as duck hair slices. The higher the cashmere content, the better the warmth retention. Cashmere content can be detected by hand touch. Generally, clothes containing less than 90% cashmere will feel hard objects in some places when the back of down jacket is pinched by hand, which is caused by incomplete rolling.
Grams of down filling refers to the weight of duck down filled in down jacket. According to different clothing styles (long, medium, long, short, down vest, liner), the filling amount of cashmere will be different. Generally speaking, the greater the filling grams of the same style of cashmere, the higher the warmth retention.
At present, in down jackets on the market, white duck down is widely used as a light-colored down jacket filler, which is the cause of color difference. White or other light-colored down jackets, if gray duck down is used, color difference will inevitably occur. But if the dark fabric is gray duck down, there is no difference outside, and the warmth is the same. The price is more expensive. Nowadays, down jackets are basically filled with light white duck down and dark gray duck down.
