What is a sandwich?
"Sandwich" was originally the title of Marquis of Great Britain. John montague (17 18 ~ 1792), the fourth generation of Marquis de Sandwich, is a noble master who loves playing cards. He is addicted to cards all day and forgets to eat and sleep. But not eating is not enough after all. One day, when it was time for dinner, he could not bear to put down his good cards, so he ordered his servant to bring meat, sausage and slices of bread from the table, put the meat or sausage between two slices of bread and play cards while swallowing. People who play cards together also accompany them to eat this new food. Everyone thinks it's delicious and convenient to eat. Later, this way of eating meat or sausage with two pieces of bread spread and was called sandwich or bread with meat.

The origin of sandwiches

Sandwich-gambler's lunch

We all know what a sandwich is. Basically, it is a fast, nutritious and convenient food with two pieces of bread sandwiched between ham, cheese and vegetables. It is the simplest way for busy modern people to send a meal without complicated cooking process. In fact, the man who invented the sandwich is really a busy man, but he is not busy with work, but with gambling.

The story about sandwiches can be traced back to 1762 in England. Sandwich was originally a place name in Britain. In this place, there is an earl named John montague. He is a notorious gambler and hangs around the card table all day. One day, he had gambled on a marathon in a club in London for a day and a night, and he had no time to eat. Although hungry, I am addicted to gambling and my luck is just right. Of course, he didn't want to leave the table for dinner. Since this club is also a steakhouse, he sent someone to bring some barbecue and cheese between two pieces of bread, so that he could eat it in one hand and hold the card in the other without getting dirty.

The idea of Count Sandwich IV soon spread, and people demanded to eat "the same thing as sandwiches", so food sandwiches were born.

1827, sandwiches were introduced to the United States through recipes written by Elizabeth Leslie, which changed the eating habits of Americans.

Now, no matter where you go to supermarkets in the United States, there will be special counters selling sliced ham, turkey, roast beef, cheese and other meat and dairy products to make sandwiches. Even American refrigerators have drawers for these foods. When you have no time to cook, take a minute or two to make a sandwich for lunch; Children whose parents are busy at work can also easily make their own sandwiches to satisfy their hunger.

Although the ancestor of Sandwich was a gambler, his descendant Count XI of Sandwich was ambitious to do business. Recently, he cooperated with Robert Earl, the founder of Hollywood Planet Restaurant, to open the first sandwich count restaurant in Florida Disneyland, and is going to expand it into a national fast food chain.

In Earl's Sandwich Restaurant, we inherited the idea of Earl IV's original sandwich-now, guests can choose their favorite bread, and then the chef can make the stuffing, hot roast beef, cheddar cheese melted in the bread, or bacon with delicious apples, so that the sandwich is no longer just a cold food just taken out of the refrigerator, so that busy people can enjoy the quality and materials.
