China has a tradition of "respecting teachers and valuing education" since ancient times. Respecting teachers and attaching importance to morality is a social virtue, but sometimes it will inevitably make students in a dominant position. I think the view of teachers and students in traditional culture often regards respect as one-way (that is, students' respect for teachers) and ignores teachers' respect for students. Because it is one-way, it is only a courtesy to those who practice "respect", not a heartfelt emotion; The object of "respect" is to meet one's own psychological needs, and rarely consider the other's psychological feelings. Students will never learn the true meaning of "respect". Therefore, I think that as an educator, we should first change our concepts, establish a sense of respecting students, and learn to respect the personality and wishes of the educated. Spring breeze weakens willows, and drizzle moistens new seedlings. I think: education should start with respect and start with heart! Sometimes, teachers should learn to "squat down and talk to students" and think from the students' point of view, which may lead to unexpected "gains". Combined with the usual education and teaching, I have the following experiences on "respect":
First, we should respect students' self-esteem and personality.
As the saying goes, "Everyone has a heart of self-esteem." Nowadays, most students are only children, with simple thoughts and strong self-esteem. They always want to be respected and encouraged by their parents and teachers. When they make achievements, they hope others can give them praise and affirmation; When there is a mistake, I hope to get forgiveness from others while feeling guilty. The head teacher is the direct protector of students' self-esteem and personality. Therefore, we should devote ourselves to creating an atmosphere of mutual respect, understanding, tolerance and friendship between teachers and students, so that students can grow up happily in this group.
Second, we should respect students' emotions.
Emotion is the driving force of behavior, and all the activities of a student at school are closely related to his emotional experience. Only when students are in a healthy and good emotional state can they receive education with peace of mind. If the head teacher adopts autocratic, cold and high-pressure management methods, it is easy for students to feel nervous, anxious and afraid. Therefore, whether from the standpoint of the healthy development of students' emotions or from the perspective of reducing the adverse effects of negative emotions on students, the class teacher should take establishing a good, cooperative, pleasant, mutual trust and intimate emotional relationship with students as an important work goal.
Third, we should respect the differences between students.
Due to the differences in social environment, family conditions, genetic quality and life experience, everyone will form a unique psychological world. Their interests, hobbies, motives, needs, temperament, personality, intelligence and specialties are all different. As the saying goes, "People have different opinions and different faces." We should not only understand students' differences, but also respect them. Differences are the basis of education and the premise of students' development. We should cherish it as a kind of wealth, so that every student can develop completely and freely on the original basis. Our education emphasizes people-oriented, so in the process of education and teaching, we should admit the differences of personality, encourage personality and teach students in accordance with their aptitude, so that every student can "do his best and do his best".
