According to the Regulation on Evaluation of Probiotic Health Food

Article 7 The strains used in the production of probiotic health food shall meet the following conditions:

1. Seed batch system should be adopted for strains used in health food production. The original seed batch shows its record, history, source and biological characteristics. The master seed batch is handed down from the original seed batch and preserved after amplification. After passage and amplification from the main seed, the working seed batch is saved.

The biological characteristics of the working seed batch should be consistent with the original seed batch, and each batch of main seed batch and working seed batch should be preserved, verified and used according to the requirements of the regulations. On suitable culture medium, the passage of main seeds should not exceed 10 generation, and the passage of working seeds should not exceed 5 generations.

2, production enterprises should have special departments and personnel to manage the production of strains, the establishment of strain files, including strain source, history, screening, verification, preservation methods, quantity, open use and other complete records. Report the management situation in writing to the local provincial health administrative department every year.

3, strains and their metabolites must be non-toxic and harmless, and toxic and harmful substances and sensitizing substances shall not be added to the production medium.

4. The live bacteria isolated from probiotic health food should be consistent with the approved and identified strains.
