Belly dance is a traditional dance in Turkey. However, including ancient Egypt, it can be traced back to the roots of belly dance in the Mediterranean, the Balkans and the Middle East. Even many scholars believe that the Spanish Flaaming dance evolved from belly dance.
In this dance, the movements of the abdomen and other parts are far more than those of the limbs. This unique dance comes from the pain of women during childbirth and the joy of giving birth to new life. Besides, in order to show respect for Mother Earth, these girls must dance barefoot. Later, this dance dedicated to the gods was named "belly dance".
