Method 1: Adjust color balance.

Color balance is an important means to adjust the overall tone of a photo. In PS, open the photo to be adjusted, and select Image → Adjustment → Color Balance in the menu bar. In the pop-up adjustment panel, you can change the overall tone of the picture by adjusting the color scale slider. For example, if the photo looks warm, you can move the "Blue" slider slightly to the right to increase the proportion of blue to make the overall tone more balanced.

Method 2: Improve the contrast.

Contrast is the degree of difference between bright and dark areas in an image. Proper contrast can make the image clearer and more layered. In PS, you can improve the contrast by adjusting the curve tool. Select Image → Adjustment → Curve in the menu bar. In the Curves panel, you can adjust the brightness and contrast of the image by dragging points on the curve.

Generally, raising the midpoint of the curve slightly upward can increase the brightness of the image, while shrinking the two sides of the curve slightly inward can enhance the contrast.

Method 4: Apply color filter.

Color filters can adjust the overall tone by changing the brightness and saturation of colors in photos. In PS, select Image → Adjustment → Color Filter in the menu bar. In the pop-up adjustment panel, you can choose different filter colors, and change the tone effect of the image by adjusting the intensity of the filter. For example, choosing a blue filter can make the image look cool, and choosing a yellow filter can increase the warmth.

Method 5, adjust the image locally.

Sometimes, we may just want to adjust a certain area of the image. In PS, you can use the brush tool and layer mask to realize local adjustment. First, create a new layer in the Layers panel, then select the brush tool, select the appropriate color and brush size, and smear the part of the image that needs to be adjusted.

Then use layer mask function to merge the new layer with the original layer, and adjust the transparency and mode of the mask to make the adjustment effect more natural.
