Are lizards reptiles?
Lizards are not amphibians.

Lizards are reptiles, not amphibians, and can live completely out of the water environment. More importantly, the characteristics of lizard's ventricle completely conform to the characteristics of reptiles, and unlike amphibians, they don't need to rely on external respiratory auxiliary organs such as skin to breathe, and their offspring are completely independent of water environment.

There are about 3,000 species of lizards distributed on the earth, and there are more than 150 known in China. Most of them are distributed in the tropics and subtropics, and their living environments are diverse, mainly terrestrial, arboreal, semi-aquatic and digging holes in the soil. Most of them eat insects, and a few plants also eat insects at the same time.

Sprinters:

Most lizards have four legs, among which the hind limbs are very powerful. They can run quickly and change direction. The fastest lizard can reach 25 kilometers per hour. Some lizards can run very fast with only two long hind legs, and they can keep their direction with their tails when running. The king lizard is the fastest of all lizards, reaching 20 to 25 kilometers per hour, and can stay on the water even if it runs on the water.
