One of Yoga Vegetarianism: Why Vegetarianism?
Vegetarianism is first and foremost an attitude. This attitude is: you don't want to get food by violence, you don't want to hurt the lives of other creatures to maintain your own survival, and you don't want to end the survival rights of other creatures in order to satisfy your appetite. When you have such a vegetarian desire, there will be a heartfelt change. This change is contrary to the previous living habits and is completely different. You need to work hard to achieve it. It won't happen without hard work, it needs to be changed! If you are born in a vegetarian family, your vegetarian diet is passive and mechanical, and no internal change is coming. But when you start a conscious vegetarian diet, the quality of the whole thing changes: you consciously improve yourself. From the perspective of human structure, the composition of human organs is suitable for vegetarianism. First look at the teeth of carnivores and vegetarians. They are completely different. Vegetarian animals' teeth are small and not sharp at all. Our human teeth belong to this category. Secondly, the intestine of carnivores is relatively short, which is suitable for indigestible meat to be excreted faster. But vegetarians are different. Their intestines are very long, several times that of carnivores. You see, our human intestines are not as long as vegetarian animals? Thirdly, most carnivores have night vision function, which is convenient for them to go out and hunt prey at night. But vegetarian animals and our human eyes don't need this function. From the perspective of energy, what we eat is actually a process of energy transformation. The energy of food is transformed into subtle life energy and enters our bodies. Body and mind are one. What characteristics the mind has will be reflected in the body. Therefore, if we are carnivores, when we allow the meat of an animal to enter our body, our body allows the energy carrying the characteristics of the animal to enter. For example, when we eat pork, energy with pig's personality enters, and then some subtle and imperceptible changes occur inside. Our mind, individual thinking and many other aspects are unconsciously influenced by this animal. Most animals don't want to be slaughtered. Fear, anger and resentment ... all kinds of toxins solidify at the moment of death, and then when the meat full of this emotion is eaten, it enters the human body without reservation. When we are vegetarian, we welcome those fresh, light, fresh plants with strong life energy into the body, and that feeling will completely change a person. You are directly with the sun and nature. This food is clean and light, so you can digest it easily. They are pure and talk to you directly with the energy of the sun, rain and dew and minerals. The whole person will be completely surrounded by the pure flowing energy in vegetarian food, and the whole meridian will be unobstructed. You will become sharper, lighter, healthier and more caring. Because you are with the whole nature now. You are relaxed again, because your existence has not disturbed other people's lives. So you can feel all the existence more truly, and that kind of in-depth experience is like singing with leaves and flowing with rivers. If you are a yoga practitioner, vegetarianism is necessary, and you will feel more, deeper and more subtle because of vegetarianism. This is also the foundation of yoga and the beginning of the most important step: non-violence. But vegetarianism is not coercion, not suppression of desire, but a natural flow. Don't suppress your desire for meat, or your desire will be more intense than a volcano. When vegetarianism comes, it will come naturally.
