Joan and Jennifer are twin sisters. They were born in Barbados in the West Indies in the 1960s and grew up in Britain. They are called silent twins. It's not that twins can't talk, but they don't want to talk to anyone but each other.
It is said that the reason why they have this situation is related to some experiences of their childhood. Because June and Jennifer are black twins, they are discriminated against and bullied at school. In order to prevent them from being bullied by their classmates after school every day, the teacher will let them go home early every day.
Probably because of this experience at school, twins are becoming more and more autistic. Gradually, they were diagnosed with psycholinguistic disorder. They just want to communicate with each other and others can't understand their communication. They spend most of their time hiding in their rooms.
However, with the increase of age, their mental state is getting worse and worse, and they are prone to violence. Finally, Joan and Jennifer were sent to a mental hospital. Because they refuse to communicate with the outside world, they only communicate with each other, so people don't know what they will talk about together.
In the end, one of the two sisters committed suicide and the other survived. They should have reached some knowledge, one of them must die first, and the other will be like a normal person. In this way, Jennifer chose sacrifice. But after Jennifer died, the forensic doctor didn't find out how she died. Joan survived. If she were alive now, she would be eighteen or nineteen.
