Many people can't grasp the speed and rhythm in the process of swinging. In the pursuit of hitting power, their swing rhythm is unstable and their swing is not smooth. Too fast swing, insufficient time allocation at each point and rigid rhythm will all lead to the reduction of hitting power. If a good rhythm can be maintained from the starting point to the hitting point, the balance of the body will be better, so that the club head face will not deviate from the target line. The control and conversion of the upper and lower bars is one of the most questioned technical links for golfers. With the smooth and correct initial movement of the upper and lower bars, you can do it in one go without worrying about the length of the club. The following are the control and conversion skills of golf up and down. Welcome to read.
Three steps to get started and get on the pole
transfer
At the same time, you need to shift your weight to your right foot. The transfer action should be obvious, but not too much. As long as the lower body of the upper body keeps moving, the upper body should be still.
Fixed; unchangeable
When the club moves up, the right hip moves up and down slightly, pulling the left hip down and moving in the opposite direction to the target. At the top of the lens, I feel my right hip is higher than my left hip.
roll
When the upper body rotates, the left shoulder will move down in the opposite direction to the target. The right shoulder will move upward toward the target. To feel the right feeling, you can only swing with your left hand. The place where the left hand stops is also the ideal top position of the right hand. When you get on the pole, you feel that your upper body leans excessively to the target, which is the feeling of perfect action.
Correct conversion of upper and lower rods
If the initial swing is not the most misunderstood swing, then the up and down swing must be. The best players in the world switch from top to bottom in the following order: the lower body "hits" in the target direction, the trunk rotates, the arms droop, and the wrists are straight. Following this conversion sequence from the top will help the club swing into the correct plane.
Most amateurs use their arms to swing down first, instead of using the lower body to start the lower part to drive the trunk to rotate. If you do the same, you will form a swing from outside the target line to inside the target line, leading to the emergence of a right curve ball or a left straight ball. If you switch up and down correctly, you are more likely to keep some lag in your swing, and your wrist will eventually release the ball before touching it.
Hip joint rotation range of upper and lower bars
If you want to improve your hitting ability, you need to know how to turn your hips correctly during the swing. Most amateurs turn their hips too far when they shoot down, which makes it difficult for them to open their hips to the target when they hit the ball, which is the key factor for the success of the swing.
In the Golf Technology Center, we have tested the swings of more than 100 professional players, so we know exactly how to turn the hips to get the maximum distance and turn effectively. When using the No.5 iron, the professional player rotates 48 degrees on average from the top to the hip, and 42 degrees on average when getting off the pole (opening at the target). If you are like most players, you can turn your hips 55 ~ 65 degrees when you hit the shot, and only turn 15 ~ 25 degrees when you hit the ball. Most players have enough hip rotation when hitting the ball, and the hitting distance is longer, but opening when hitting the ball is more important than closing when hitting the top.
There are several common swing mistakes that can cause the hips to turn too far when going up. Without video recording or motion analysis, it is difficult to know what caused these problems. Anyway, the following swing methods will make your hips work better.
One way is to keep your right knee bent during the swing. Doing so can properly limit the rotation of the hips. Also, when aiming at the ball, pay attention to keep the distance between your knees and keep this width until you get to the top. Another way is to aim the belt buckle at the golf ball during the whole stroke, and aim the belt buckle at the target as much as possible when hitting the ball under the stroke. The main points are as follows-
1. Keep your right knee bent during the swing;
2. Try to keep the distance between your knees when aiming at the ball until you reach the top;
3. Keep the belt buckle pointing to the target when reaching the top of the pole (the same as when aiming at the ball);
4. When hitting the ball, try to aim the belt buckle at the target.
Four-point inspection of upper and lower rods
Through the understanding and study of the upper and lower strokes and the conversion between the upper and lower strokes, I believe all golfers have gained something. Next, I will present a video to help you better judge and check the accuracy of your up-and-down movements.
