New regulations for electric bicycles in 2022
The new regulations for electric vehicles in 2022 are as follows: (Electric bicycles that need to be licensed must meet the following conditions before they can go through the licensing procedures)

1, must have pedaling ability;

2. The maximum design speed shall not exceed 25km/h;

3. The vehicle weight (including battery) shall not exceed 55kg.

4, the motor power does not exceed 400 watts;

5, the battery voltage does not exceed 48 volts;

6. Technical requirements such as tamper resistance, fire prevention, flame retardant performance and charger protection have also been added.

Note: If your vehicle does not meet any of the above criteria, you will not be able to apply for a license plate normally.

With the introduction of the national standard policy, there are new regulations on the licensing of electric vehicles. Whether it is an electric vehicle that meets the new national standard or an electric vehicle that exceeds the standard, it is necessary to register and get a license to drive normally on the road. For electric vehicles that meet the new national standard, you can bring relevant information to the local vehicle management office or service outlets to apply for a formal license, and for electric vehicles that exceed the standard, you can also apply for a temporary transitional license on the premise of complete information.

In the new regulations of electric bicycle licensing in 2022, the measures implemented in different regions are also different, and the prescribed licensing period is also different. Materials to be prepared for licensing electric bicycles include: owner's ID card, owner's identity certificate, vehicle invoice or origin certificate, vehicle product certificate or import certificate, relevant insurance and tax certificates, and foreigners in some areas may also need to provide residence certificates.

After preparing the relevant application materials, the electric vehicle owner can go to the local vehicle management office to submit the registration application. When handling the registration, you also need to bring the declared electric car or electric bicycle, and submit it to the motor vehicle safety technical inspection agency for motor vehicle safety technical inspection according to the guidance of relevant staff. After the data has passed the examination and the vehicle has passed the inspection, the number can be selected and the license plate and registration certificate can be issued. The service life of temporary transition number plates issued by over-standard electric vehicles is generally 3 years. However, considering the policy of extending the service life in some areas, the latest regulations on electric vehicle licensing need to be combined with local policies.
