The college mainly has departments of road and bridge, machinery (port), automobile and information management, and has more than 40 majors in six categories, including highway, electromechanical, port, automobile, information and logistics. For a long time, in order to meet the market demand, the College has established the College Development Advisory Committee in conjunction with nearly 300 enterprises and institutions, and on the basis of the College Development Advisory Committee, four professional cooperation committees of civil engineering, machinery, transportation and information management (expressway) have been established to carry out in-depth school-enterprise cooperation.

The college adopts the mode of running a school jointly, which is close to the market and forms a network of educating and employing people. It has formed three school-running characteristics: school-enterprise cooperation, combination of production and education and on-the-job training. The traffic engineering laboratory of the college was evaluated as a comprehensive first-class testing institution of highway engineering by the Ministry of Communications. The college adheres to the road of combining production with education and directly serves traffic construction. Combined with the teaching of road and bridge specialty, the college established the traffic engineering test center and the traffic engineering supervision company. Combined with the teaching of road construction machinery specialty, the traffic engineering machinery rental center was established. The road and bridge specialty owns the road and bridge specialty test building with a building area of 4,500 ㎡, the largest tonnage press in the province, the anchoring efficiency coefficient tester with the largest number of holes in the province, the pavement laser flatness tester imported from Denmark, the pavement cross-section testing system imported from New Zealand, the pavement automatic friction coefficient testing system imported from Sweden, the rubber bearing, the steel strand strength modulus tester, the protective layer thickness tester, the ultrasonic instrument and the nuclear density meter. The mechanical specialty has a mechanical specialty building with a building area of 5000㎡, the most advanced 1900 and 2000 road milling machines produced by WIRTGEN Company in Germany, bridge inspection vehicles produced in the United States, 50-ton cranes and other road construction machinery and equipment. In order to meet the social demand for machining talents, the Institute has established a machining laboratory with two advanced Siemens 802C and Fanuc OT-MAIT CNC machine tools, 12 common machine tools and milling machines. Only by taking the road of combining production with teaching can the college's teaching equipment gradually develop and grow, which can not only meet the teaching needs, provide services for traffic construction, but also cultivate highly skilled talents.
