How to improve the running speed of computer
First, improve the startup speed of the computer.

The computer has just entered the system interface, and nothing can be opened. It can be opened in about a minute. Using the following methods for comprehensive settings can completely improve the startup speed of the computer.

1. Turn off automatic detection of IDE channels. Right-click "My Computer" property, select "Hardware", enter "Device Manager", find and open "IDE TAT/ATAPI Controller", check "Main IDE Channel Properties", change "Device Type" to "None" in advanced settings, or enter to view the properties of secondary IDE channels, change "Device Type" to "None" in advanced settings, and confirm. In this way, the blue scroll bar at startup generally only needs to scroll once to quickly enter the system.

2. Reduce self-initiated projects. When the computer is turned on, it will randomly start some default software, such as Tencent and Thunder. The more startup items are loaded, the slower they enter the system, which can optimize the system and reduce the number of startup add-ins. Start → Run, enter msconfig→ OK. In the open system configuration program, close some unimportant services and startup programs, and restart the computer.

3. Cancel the automatic search function of the automatic system. Open my computer, click Tools in the drop-down menu, click Folder Options, click View, and uncheck "Automatically search network folders and printers" at the bottom of the options.

4. Load the automatically assigned address. After Windows XP starts to enter the desktop, the system will temporarily stagnate for a while. Starting any program at this time will not respond. This is because the DHCP client service of Windows XP is assigning IP addresses to network cards, and the system will temporarily stagnate for some time. To solve this problem, just right-click the Local Area Connection icon in Control Panel → Network Connections, then select Properties, select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) from the list in the General tab of the pop-up properties window (as shown), and then click the Properties button. In the pop-up properties window, select the option of "Use the following IP address", and enter "192.168.0.1(1-255)" and "255." in the IP address and subnet mask respectively.

5. Clear the prefetch directory. Enter the C:WINDOWSPrefetch folder, delete all files with the extension pf, and restart. Is it faster to start?

For beginners, it is recommended to use super rabbit magic settings to optimize the settings. After downloading and installing, open Super Rabbit, click on the function of "removing garbage and uninstalling software" to enter "Super Cleaning King", click to enter the interface of "Optimizing System and Software", select "Detailed Optimization" to gradually enter "Software that will start with Windows", and cancel before a software that needs to be started randomly. Generally, only three items are kept: antivirus software, firewall and new input method indicator icon. Then go all the way to the next step, and then restart the computer. Is the speed significantly improved when it is turned on?

Second, improve the running speed of the system.

The key to improve the running speed of the program is to reduce the consumption of CPU and memory. How to do this? My practical experience has several points:

1, select a good operating system. It is recommended to choose the original operating system among many versions. It is suggested to download the official original Windows XP SP3(VOL) simplified Chinese version with reference to ISO, and make XP SP3 system disk with integrated SATA driver, and make XP SP3 OEM system installation disk without activating automatic installation.

2, improve the computer display performance. Right-click "My Computer" to enter the system properties, view the advanced options, click the performance to enter the setting dialog box, select "Adjust to the best performance", check "Apply visual effects to windows and buttons" and "Use shadows for desktop icon labels", and return after confirmation.

3. Close the screen saver.

4. Use the mouse to refresh as little as possible. If necessary, you can press F5 to refresh.

5. Install commonly used software correctly. It is best not to install usable software in the computer as far as possible, only use one kind of software with similar functions, and try to install application software (except antivirus software) on the hard disk other than the system disk. The principle of installing software is "applicable, few but fine".

Third, regular virus scanning and garbage cleaning.

1, general virus scanning. The virus will undoubtedly slow down the running speed of the system. It is recommended to upgrade the anti-virus software frequently and scan the whole system regularly.

Two commonly used anti-virus softwares are recommended, which can be used in combination: for details, see essay: free trial method of basic full-featured security software kis8.0 and essay: recommending a "sword" for killing Trojan virus (AVG Anti-Spy -V7.5 Green Edition).

2. Regular cclean. You can use the super rabbit tool to clean up the garbage. Open the Super Rabbit, click the function of "garbage removal and software uninstallation" to enter the "Super Cleaning King", select "Cleaning System", then click "Finish Cleaning" and click another step until it is finished. Then clean up the registry, check the first item "Scan the wrong class" with the recommended option (be careful not to select the item of slimming the registry), and then click Next until it is finished.

Fourth, organize the disks regularly.

When defragmenting disks, there are three points to pay attention to:

1. Close other applications.

2. It is recommended to use the function of XP to defragment the disk. This method is the safest, and the speed of clams is very slow. If the speed is too slow, you can use special programs such as vopt to defragment the disk. These softwares can greatly improve the sorting speed and quickly and safely re-integrate files scattered in different sectors, thus saving us more time.

It should be noted that frequent defragmentation will do harm to our hard disk. It is recommended to clean up the debris once every two weeks, so that our system will always be in the best condition.

3. Reserve a certain amount of hard disk space. Generally speaking, the smaller disk partition should reserve 15% of the available space, and the larger disk partition should also have 8% of the remaining space. Because if the remaining space on the hard disk is too small, it will affect the running speed of the application and fail to speed up the defragmentation process.
