Since July 1 day, 2020, this standard has replaced the Emission Limits and Measurement Methods of Light Vehicle Pollutants (China Phase V) (GB 18352.5-20 13). However, before July 2025 1, the fifth-stage "in-service conformity inspection" of light vehicles will still implement the relevant requirements of GB 18352.5-20 13.

The relevant requirements of country ⅵ stipulate that:
1. Emission limits and measurement methods of automobile ignition engines and automobiles equipped with ignition engines. This standard is applicable to the ignition engines and ignition start-up vehicles installed on the motor vehicles with the design speeds of M2, M3, N2 and N3 greater than 25km/h and the M 1 motor vehicles with the total mass greater than 3500kg.
2. The emission limits and measurement methods of vehicle gasoline engine exhaust pollutants shall be implemented in accordance with the provisions of this standard; The emission limits of exhaust pollutants from automobile ignition natural gas and liquefied petroleum gas engines shall be implemented according to the provisions of this standard, and the measurement method shall be implemented according to the relevant provisions of GB 1769 1 Emission Limits and Measurement Methods of Exhaust Pollutants from Automobile Compression Ignition Engines.
