No offense, boss. When your C drive is out of space, you can try to free some used space.
You can try these methods:
Method 1: Use disk cleaning.
The system comes with a disk cleaning tool, so it is beneficial to run it regularly. Yi Baodian has an article devoted to this:
/ (/#section 1)
Method 2: use VSP 1CLN tool to clean up SP 1 backup.
If you have installed Service Pack 1 (SP 1), this information may be useful to you. SP 1 will back up some original files, so that one day you can successfully uninstall SP 1. Cleaning up these backup information can save some space. But after cleaning, you can't uninstall SP 1!
1. Start menu->; Type cmd in the start search box, and an option for cmd will appear at the top. Right click-> Select Run as Administrator.
A box will pop up for you to confirm. Just click Continue to confirm.
2. A command line window appears, type VSP 1CLN in it, and then press Enter.
3. press y to confirm.
4. Wait a minute.
5. After completion, the operation will display:
PS: You don't know if your machine is equipped with SP 1? These simple steps can be accomplished:
Start menu-> Start typing winver-& gt;; Get into the car. If it is Service Pack 1, the build 6001:service pack1will be displayed at the top of the window.
Method 3: Set the space size of the shadow copy.
Vista uses shadow copy technology for data backup and system recovery. Need to occupy a certain space. You can use the Vssadmin tool to set the amount of disk space occupied. Specific practices:
1. Start menu->; Type cmd in the start search box, and an option for cmd will appear at the top. Right-click and select Run as Administrator.
2. Then type vssadmin list shadowstorage and press Enter. To avoid your typo, you can copy and paste it.
3. This command displays the disk usage of the current shadow copy:
4. The maximum storage space of shadow copy is the maximum space it can use (now it is 18.603GB). Can be appropriately reduced to save space.
5. You need to use this command (to avoid your typing mistakes, you can copy and paste):
VSSAdmin Resize shadow storage/For = C:/On = C:/MaxSize = 1GB
This command limits the maximum shadow copy space to 1GB, or you can set it to the required size.
When you see that the shadow copy storage association has been successfully resized, it is complete.
