Died of a heart attack. Princess Margaret, the only sister of Queen Elizabeth II, died at 6: 30 a.m. on February 9, 2002.

On the afternoon of February 8, 2002, Margaret's stroke worsened. She was taken to Edward VII Hospital in the evening, but she and her children died peacefully at 6: 30 the next day.
