If it is meniscus injury of knee joint, can the leg bend?
Treatment of meniscus injury by different stages and methods;

1. Acute phase: If there is obvious effusion (or hematocele) in the joint, the effusion should be pumped out under strict aseptic operation; If the joint is "locked", the "lock" should be released by operation. Then the knee joint was fixed in a straight position with plaster from thigh 1/3 to ankle for 4 weeks. Plaster should be properly shaped, and patients can walk with plaster. During and after fixation, the quadriceps femoris should be actively exercised to prevent muscle atrophy.

2. Repair of meniscus blood supply area injury: The meniscus blood supply area injury, especially the longitudinal tear injury, can be healed by suture surgery with a good prognosis, which has been confirmed by many experiments and clinical studies. However, in a prospective observation of 10 years, it was found that many patients who had undergone this operation showed signs of X-ray joint degeneration. This indicates that the biomechanical function of the repaired damaged meniscus may not be completely reconstructed.

3. Repair of meniscus injury without blood supply: It is relatively difficult to repair meniscus injury without blood supply, which has become a difficult problem in knee surgery. There is no small and regular injury in the blood supply area of meniscus, such as bucket handle tear. Partial resection is often done, and the effect is acceptable. However, this competition has more or less damaged the biomechanical and biophysical functions of meniscus. At present, although many methods have been found to treat meniscus injury in avascular areas, there are few clinical studies and this aspect needs to be developed.

4. Severe meniscus injury: When the meniscus is seriously injured, it must be completely removed. At this time, frozen meniscus and meniscus prosthesis can be transplanted, but there are many problems in meniscus prosthesis transplantation, such as the biomechanical function of prosthesis can not meet the requirements, the fixation of prosthesis is difficult, and the joint degeneration is still obvious after transplantation.

5. Surgical treatment: Surgical treatment refers to taking out free meniscus fragments or damaged meniscus under arthroscopy. Meniscectomy is the last resort. After meniscectomy, patients will lose or weaken their basic physiological functions such as jumping and bearing weight.

6. Traditional Chinese medicine treatment: Studies have confirmed that the local treatment of traditional Chinese medicine plaster has strong local permeability. Drug molecules are absorbed through the skin and participate in blood circulation, reaching the affected area directly, and conducting to meridians and bones through the skin, stimulating the body's regulatory function, promoting functional recovery, and achieving the goal of rapid cure. Taking medicine according to the characteristics of meniscus disease can achieve remarkable effects such as relaxing muscles and activating collaterals, promoting blood circulation and qi circulation, dispelling cold and relieving pain, and then help patients get rid of meniscus disease completely and enjoy a healthy life again.
