What details should cats pay attention to when dieting?
There are two ways for cats to lose weight: exercise and diet control.

Diet control is not dieting. If we use a diet to lose weight for cats, this diet must be formulated according to the cat's own situation, rather than directly saying, eat less and feed less.

Sudden weight loss has a great impact on the health of cats, which may lead to some diseases, not worth the loss, and it is easy to rebound.

Therefore, special attention should be paid to some details, as follows:

1, feeding quantity problem ① The daily feeding quantity can be calculated according to the daily resting calorie demand of cats, and RER (kilocalories/day) = body weight kg*30+70.

For example, a fat cat weighing 15 kg feeds 7.5kg*30=280kcal every day. If this fat cat is fat and doesn't like sports, it can be reduced by 20%-40% on this basis.

This needs to be calculated according to the calorie value on the cat food bag, but some cat food bags are not marked, and some are randomly marked, so it is not very accurate.

② Another calculation method is that the first two weeks of intermittent caloric restriction (ICR)= 75% of the maintenance energy requirement (MER), and the second two weeks 1 0,000% MER, alternately for 6 months.

③ Otherwise, the simplest thing is to reduce the daily feed by 5%- 10%. If the daily feeding amount of cats is different, you can first observe the total amount of food eaten in seven days, take an average, and then determine the daily feeding amount.

It should be noted that don't reduce it all at once. At first, you can eat less than 5% a day, feed the cat for two or three days to observe its adaptation, and then gradually reduce the feeding amount to lose weight.

2, feeding methods eat less and eat more meals, regularly and quantitatively.

Adult cats usually eat two or three meals a day. If they lose weight, they can have time to increase the feeding times, but the total feeding amount is fixed.

3, weight loss goals Don't set the weight loss goal too unrealistic, you can set a small goal, such as a month and a half, with an average of 50g per week.

In addition, prepare a weighing scale, and it is best to observe the cat's weight every day. In case of ups and downs, you need to pay attention to whether eating too little leads to insufficient nutrition.
