Cosplay: How to make simple DIY props?
Animation: In the last article, we briefly introduced some steps and methods of making cosplay clothes. This time, following the previous topic, props play an important role in cos, because an exquisite cos prop often has the function of making the finishing touch, making the character more grounded and more spiritual. So get to the point now! Making props first requires two materials, namely EVA and PVC. EVA must be very clear to senior coser, and it is the most commonly used cos material at present, which is convenient for shaping. PVC is more expensive, but its hardness and quality will be better. Prepare scissors, art knives, saws, drills, and some adhesives, coloring pigments and blending. Coloring: spray painting method is adopted. There are many brands of spray paint, and different brands have slight differences in the same color, and poor quality spray paint is easier to decolorize. We have used two brands with good quality, Sega Bao and Li Baozi, and there is a big "B" on the bottle. Take No.35 gold as an example. These two brands are bright and have a metallic texture. Most other brands are dim, and of course there are special matte gold. As for spraying, pay attention to the same as MH coloring. Watch the distance. Don't spray too thick. It is best to apply three coats of paint, the first two coats of color and the last coat of varnish for protection (we omit this step if matte effect is needed). After spraying each layer, it is best to dry it in the shade for one day, and don't touch it, otherwise fingerprints may be left. Sometimes complementary colors may be needed, but if the parts have been assembled, the parts that cannot be polluted should be covered. If the area is small, it is recommended to draw by hand. After brushing propylene, the upper varnish should not be too thick, otherwise it may crack. Sizing: 502 and UHU with strong adhesion are commonly used, which can harden after drying. Ornaments and swords: Take typical cat ears as an example. The method is to sew the ear on a hairband with the same color as the hair and fix it. If you don't want the headband to be so obvious, you can wrap it around the back of your head and fix it on your ear (like some kind of earphone), and then weld one end of two bent wires to the headband near your ear and the other end to your head. The ear is sewn to a curved wire. Most swords are made of wood and can be obtained from wood shops. After the desired shape is planed with a planer, the gaps planed with the planer are filled with patching soil and plastic-steel soil (available in hardware stores), and then smoothed with sandpaper. Repeat the above steps until the surface reaches the required smoothness. For the part of painting, you can buy painting at the hardware store. It takes a little skill to paint evenly. Remember, the formula is fast, firm and accurate. Try a few more times and you'll get the hang of it. Remember to draw in a well-ventilated place.
