Another village with a bright future-also on eight restart methods of PALM.

I have been playing PALM for almost half a year now. From the introduction of PALMIIIxe to M5 15, I have the joy of solving problems and the anxiety of trying to fail. The original IIIxe didn't have extended support, so in order to save space, it took a lot of effort from slimming with RscEdit to releasing rom space with JACKFLASH. I believe many people know the harm of JACKFLASH. I first deleted some programs that didn't come with the system, and then moved necessary programs such as CJKOS to FLASH. It was useless at that time, but it is wise to think about it now. Except for some difficult beginnings, it was basically a fluke. But I also know that the program that loads FLASH after hard boot is invisible, and only by running JACKFLASH can it be recognized by LAUNCHER. After reading some posts, I learned that JACKSAFE can make the programs that have been brushed in visible even after hard startup. For fat friends, it should be a pleasure to adjust the system to the best state.

As soon as I got M5 15, I installed JACKFLASH and JACKSAFE and started trial operation. Everything is fine. However, danger is already beckoning to us. I remember that the icon name of CJKOS can't be Chinese, so I decided to try to move CJKOS to RAM. Enter JACKFLASH, select CJKOS, click enter memory ... screen, crash, I soft start according to old experience, invalid! Hard start, prompt whether to clear all data, press the up key, a thin green bar will appear at the bottom of the screen, crash! I started to panic and went to Tom to find related posts. I really saw someone who had the same experience as me. The screen display and symptoms are exactly the same, but there is no solution. I posted for help, but no one responded. I had to put M5 15 aside. The next day, the power was turned off, so I plugged it into the synchronous bracket and tried it again. To make matters worse, the screen is white and there is no display. Upgrade! I only have this last glimmer of hope. Running the upgrade tool, it's a pity that the next step of the software is always gray, and I have become a victim of JACKSAFE.

With the mentality that a dead horse is a living horse doctor, I carefully read the description file of JACKFLASH again and found a method to reset JACKFLASH. Hard restart as required, still no response. Me, JACKFLASH RESET and DEBUG RESET run the upgrade tool again. The screen remains the same, but the next button is no longer gray. Click to enter to write OS…… ................. I succeeded.

After this dangerous situation, I want to remind fat friends: 1, JACKSAFE is not safe. 2. If you really need JACKSAFE, you should do it in one step, and you can't move in and out.

Ps: I have seen the post about restart on TOM before, but it is not comprehensive. I would like to add the following:
