Can soda ash and citric acid be used in homemade soda successfully?
I don't think so. The way to make homemade soda:

Buy soda water. Go to the grocery store and buy a liter or two of pure soda. Look for soda water without sugar or other additives. All you need is pure carbonated water.

Choose sweeteners. You can use ordinary sugar, honey, agave nectar or syrup to get different flavors. Choose a sweetener that matches the taste of your soda.

Make soda. Pour carbonated water into a pitcher or goblet. Add the flavor of your choice, whether it's freshly squeezed fruit, chocolate syrup, cream and vanilla. You can add some sweeteners and then stir the whole mixed drink with a spoon. You can drink it right away, or you can store it in a bottle, cover it and drink it later.

Pour soda water into a transparent glass and put it into a straw to show its beautiful color and bubbles. Homemade soda is a good party drink.
