Among these three schools, futurism first appeared. This art school can be said to be completely based on industrial civilization. It started from the field of architecture and gradually expanded to various art categories. At the beginning of the 20th century, western industrial civilization developed rapidly. Futurism holds that with the development of science, technology and material, people's ideology such as art, aesthetics, culture and thought should be further developed. His art advocates advocating everything of industrial civilization.
However, this worship of industrial civilization did not last long. The outbreak of the First World War suddenly shattered human hopes for industrial society. At the end of World War I, futurism disappeared. Then came Dadaism. The emergence of Dadaism originated from the thinking of World War I, which brought only despair to industrial society and human beings to western artists. The resulting Dadaism inevitably leads to a nihilistic attitude. They treat everything with an empty mental state, and their code of action is to destroy everything. However, because of this, Dadaism is a destructive art school. It did not and could not establish any theoretical system to maintain the development of its thoughts. This is just a change of concept.
The collapse of Dadaism brought about the rise of surrealism. It inherited the unrealistic state of Dadaism, and made new development on this basis, giving artists a new and contemporary development direction. If Dadaism overthrew the previous realism, then surrealism is to rebuild an artistic system on this ruin. Surrealism, based on Freud's psychoanalysis, advocates the artistic expression of the image of the world in people's thinking consciousness through the excavation of people's subconscious. So his works directly express the artist's inner thoughts in the form of surrealism.
