Has Poyang Lake disappeared?
Poyang Lake has not disappeared, but the area is getting smaller and smaller, and the dry season is getting longer and longer.

In recent years, due to the continuous lack of rain, the water level of the Yangtze River has decreased, and Poyang Lake will usher in a dry season every 10 month. After the lake receded, only mounds and several ponds were left, and the water-colored lake became a "river ditch" and a "grassland" during the flood season. The dry season of nearly half a year has made the normal domestic water consumption of villagers around the lake a problem.

According to the data released by Jiangxi Provincial Water Resources Department, Poyang Lake has been suffering from drought for many years since 2000, especially in 2003, 2007 and 2009. Hydrological monitoring data show that the water area of Poyang Lake can reach more than 4,000 square kilometers in wet season, and it can be "slimmed down" to hundreds of square kilometers in dry season in winter. From 2003 to 2007, the dry season of Poyang Lake was advanced from the previous 65438+February to 65438+1October, and the arrival date of the lowest water level in some dry years was at least 100 days earlier.

Poyang Lake has "bottomed out" many times in 10 years. Although there are some human factors, such as the river water injected into the five rivers in Poyang Lake area is heavily occupied by industrial and agricultural production along the coast, which leads to the decrease of water injected into Poyang Lake and the undercutting of the lake by a large number of dredging in the lake area, it is still caused by global climate change. The development of the cities in Poyang Lake basin bears an unshirkable responsibility for the drought, and human factors such as illegal sand mining and the closure of some giant water conservancy facilities have aggravated the drought in Poyang Lake during the dry season.
