3. How to preserve fresh lilies?

(1) stored in the cellar.

Put it in the cellar. The cellar is built by using the thermal inertia of the soil. Generally, according to the depth of groundwater, round or square holes or pits are dug underground. Be sure to pay attention to the setting of safety equipment such as waterproof, moistureproof and ventilation. There used to be many cellars in the countryside, but now they can be used to put sweet potatoes, garlic, ginger and so on. This is mainly because the air in the wine cellar is scarce, so plants have less aerobic breathing and consume less energy. In addition, the temperature in the cellar is much lower than that outside, which reduces the aerobic respiration of plants. Together, they are enough to support plants for a long time. Of course, this is definitely a good way to keep lily fresh. It is estimated that they can be kept for at least three months!

(2) Keep it in the refrigerator

We first washed the lily we just bought, then drained it and put it in a cool place for about 2 days, then packed it in a fresh-keeping bag, squeezed the air out of the fresh-keeping bag and put it in the freezer. Keeping it at 2-6℃ for half a year is definitely not a problem. If we put a layer of ice and adjust the temperature below 0℃, it is estimated that it can be preserved for at least two or three years!

(3) Soil protection

We bury the lily in a plastic bag, try to get rid of the air in the plastic, and then put it in a strong plastic box. Note that the box must be strong, otherwise it will rot and cause problems. The principle of soil preservation is actually the same as that of cellar preservation, but it is more extensive and practical. We don't have to dig a big and deep cellar. The disadvantage is, of course, that the effect is not as good as that of the cellar, which is suitable for preservation for three weeks to one month.

(4) Preserve with fruit preservative.

We all know that people who sell lilies to buy buy are most prone to Penicillium rot in the process of preservation, so you can choose a preservative that can inhibit Penicillium to preserve lilies. Here, I suggest you soak them in the special liquid preservative for fruits and vegetables for about 10 minutes, and then take them out to dry.

(5) Preserve with ice and dry ice

Finally, if you want to preserve lilies during transportation, the best way is to use ice or dry ice. Ice can keep the temperature around 0℃, and dry ice can keep the temperature below -50℃, which shows that the effect of dry ice preservation is obviously very good.
