First, use the perspective deformation of wide-angle lens to face-lift.
When we use a wide-angle lens for a close-up task, we can try to get close to the shooting distance of the face of the character, make reasonable use of the obvious perspective deformation presented by the edge of the wide-angle lens, and then make the object have a perspective deformation of "near big and far small" through a better overhead angle, so that the face of the character, especially the chin, appears very small and narrow, and the face of the whole character naturally becomes thinner.
(Frontal shooting makes the face look fat)
This is a portrait taken parallel to the front line of sight. The face of the person in the photo looks a little fat.
(Use wide-angle lens and backhand to achieve "face-lifting")
A person's face looks thinner, because the wide-angle lens is shot from the top of the person's head, and the camera lens is very close to the person's head. In this way, the face of the character will be deformed because of the perspective of the wide-angle lens, which will make the cheek and chin of the character relatively "smaller", make the whole face look longer, and finally play a "face-lifting" effect.
Second, use different hand gestures to cover up the fat part of the face.
For the close-up of face, hand is not often used, but once the close-up of face is added to the depiction of hand, then the way of hand placement needs to be considered. Proper hand posture design can make the close-up of people's faces more vivid by using relatively monotonous techniques. Here, in order to achieve the effect of face-lifting, we usually arrange the hand of the model near the cheek, gently touch one cheek with one hand, or hold the chin with two hands, or even cover most of the face with two hands, and so on. These methods and techniques can hide the fat cheeks of people's faces to the maximum extent and make people's faces thinner.
("thin face" depends on hand type)
In this portrait photography, the photographer designed and arranged a very suitable figure hand shape, holding the chin with one hand, making the hand close to her left cheek and the head slightly sideways. Such gesture modeling and facial posture cover up the left cheek, thus playing the role of "face-lifting" and making the beauty's face look slimmer.
(Use branches instead of hands to "facelift" the characters)
In addition to hand posture, you can also use some props to cover or set off, such as hats, glasses, collars and so on. And you can also choose some foreground to block or set off, such as branches and leaves.
Third, guide and control the model's head posture to face-lift.
As mentioned earlier, we can achieve the goal of "face-lifting" by restraining the posture of the model's hands, but there is actually a more effective way of "face-lifting", that is, face-lifting method. In fact, this method is quite simple and very easy to operate in the actual portrait photography process. In shooting, we only need to guide the model to bow slightly and close her chin slightly. In this way, the model's face will be well decorated and will look thinner in the shot.
("Bow your head and face thin" gives the character "face thin")
The model slightly lowered her head and closed her chin slightly. This implicit head movement combined with the downward eyes of the role perfectly expresses the euphemistic, shy and implicit beauty of the role, which not only makes the face of the beautiful female model look thinner, but also sets off the introverted psychological state of the role.
(Side shot with glasses to achieve "face-lifting")
Finally, there is a simple and easy way, that is, we don't shoot our face from the real thing, but from the side, which will make our face thinner in many cases, and the side shot with glasses will make our face thinner.
Finally, several excellent portraits were selected. In these three works, the photographer used different skills and methods to "facelift" the characters in these three works, and all the characters were successfully "facelift".
(use the "bow method" to "facelift")
(Realize "face-lifting" with both hands)
(Touch the right face to "thin face")
