How to do simple graphic typesetting with PS PS is a graphic production software, so do you know how to do simple graphic typesetting quickly? Let's follow the tutorial of graphic steps and learn how to make it.

Tools/materials

To modify (a picture or photograph) with a computer.

Picture material

First, put a new photo.

0 1

Open the PS software, and create a new blank document with the shortcut key of "Ctrl+N".

The size is set to 720* 1280 (resolution: 300 pixels/inch).

02

On the File menu, select Place Embedded Smart Object to quickly add it to a blank document.

Second, establish a new text.

0 1

Import the material image into the canvas and lock it.

02

Select the text tool and enter the theme text at the top of the canvas.

03

Set the text color to #e5c 18 1 (yellow) to complete the font setting.

Note: You can resize the text as needed.

Third, typesetting text

0 1

Use the move tool, press Alt+Shift, drag the text on the canvas, and quickly copy the new text.

02

Change the text to a subtitle by double-clicking the newly copied text layer on the Layers panel.

03

Using the same method, copy the text and modify the text content.

04

In order to make the picture diagonal symmetry, we suggest adding dates or other titles in the lower right corner to improve the effect!

05

The final effect is shown in the figure below. Have you learned any new skills? It's your turn to try next!

Note: because the lower right corner is not very saturated, a new text fill has been added.

Special tips

It is recommended to save PSD file for quick modification next time.

Hello, Ps, how to typeset pictures and texts.

With the path tool, text typesetting becomes more flexible. We can make words into any form we want. For example, in the tutorial, we can put the text into a closed path to make three-dimensional graphics, or we can typeset according to the curve path to make lovely text curves. It is more difficult to make creative text patterns through path combination. I believe that after learning this tutorial, you can give full play to your creativity and make more creative graphics.

Final effect

1. Create a new 400×300 image (the size can be set by yourself), and then select the custom shape tool.

Note that the drawing method should be the first (shape layer), as shown by the red arrow in the figure below. Then select a heart in the shape list (if it is not in the list, you can restore the default shape), as shown by the green arrow in the figure below. Style selection means no style. You can also choose a new color.

2. Then draw a heart in the image (you can hold down the SHIFT key to keep the aspect ratio during drawing), which is actually to create a color filling layer with a vector mask. As shown on the left, a color-filled layer will be displayed in the Layers panel. Double-click the thumbnail to change the fill color. On the right side of the layer thumbnail (at the blue arrow on the lower left), there is a mask thumbnail, which is a vector mask thumbnail. Its characteristic is to use gray to indicate the hidden area. We will learn vector masking in the future.

Before continuing, be sure to display the paths in the path mask by clicking the thumbnail of the path mask. You will see the outline of a heart in the image, and a thin line box will appear around the thumbnail of the path mask in the layer panel, as shown in the lower right of the figure below.

3. Now choose the text tool and let it stay on this heart-shaped path. The cursor of the mouse will change according to the different staying position. When hovering over the path line, it will be displayed as, and when hovering within the drawing, it will be displayed as. Please pay attention to the difference between them. The former means to arrange the text along the path, while the latter means to typeset the text in a closed area, with completely different functions.

4. Now let's stop the text tool in the heart (the cursor is yes), and then click it, and the text input cursor will appear, and enter some text. Such as "love" (note that there is a space after each letter, and the reason will be explained later). Choose an English font (such as Tohoma), choose a smaller font (such as 6px), copy and paste it several times, and let it fill the whole drawing (it doesn't matter if it exceeds it). The effect is shown in the figure on the left below. At this point, you can see that the arrangement of characters in the graph is asymmetric. Next, set the center in the paragraph palette, and set the values of left indent and right indent appropriately (for example, 5px) to make it look more comfortable. Generally speaking, these settings should be made for text typesetting in closed graphics to achieve better visual effects. As shown on the right.

5. Now hide (or even delete) the heart-shaped color filling layer. We see that there is still a closed path around the text, just like the original heart-shaped path. As shown on the left. It can be understood that although the typesetting path of this text layer is derived from the vector path in another layer, the same path is "cloned" and "preserved" after completion.

We can modify this "clone and keep" path to change the layout of the text. The method is to use the direct selection tool [A/Shift _ A] to click on the path of the text layer (not the previous filling layer, which should be hidden at this time), and you will see that many small squares are displayed on the path. As shown in the figure below. Use the direct selection tool to move the square at the blue arrow slightly to the upper left, and you can see the effect. You will know the path later, and then you can make more and more complicated changes. Now, just remember that the path can be modified.

As we mentioned earlier, we should put a space after each English letter, so that when the line breaks at the end, the single letter can move to the next line. If we use a complete English word LOVE, when the last line breaks, the whole word will be moved to the next line, because we want to maintain integrity. This effect looks stiff (some people will like this effect), as shown in the right picture below. You can refer to this method of adding spaces in practical application in the future. If you feel that spaces widen the letter spacing, you can make up for it by setting the spacing to be negative in the character palette.

6. Now hide the finished text layer. And click the vector mask of the color fill layer to make its path displayed, even if the fill layer itself is hidden. As shown on the left. Press and hold the text tool on the path line, and notice that the cursor indication should be. Click on the approximate position at 1 on the left below, and the text input cursor will appear. Change the font size to 12px, align the paragraphs to the left, and then enter "Sheoncewasatrueloveofmine", so that the text effect arranged along the path can be formed, which is similar to the right in the figure below. Note that there is a small circle mark at the beginning of the text.

For the complete path text, you can also change its position on the path. The method is to use the path selection tool [A/Shift _ A]. Note that it is somewhat similar to the direct selection tool, but the former is a black arrow and the latter is a white arrow. Pay attention to the difference. Move the path selection tool to the left and right of the small circle mark just now, and a cursor and a cursor will appear according to the different positions, representing the starting point and the ending point of the text respectively, so we call them the starting point cursor and the ending point cursor. Now, move the starting point and ending point of the text to the position shown on the left, with the red arrow as the starting point and the green arrow as the ending point. At this point, you can see the original overlapping text start and end tags on the path.

7. If the distance between them is not enough to fully display the text, the end tag will change to indicate that some text is not displayed. Just like in the framed text we studied before, the marks that appear when the text is not fully displayed are the same as those in the picture below.

If you drag the start or end marker to the other side of the path, the display position of the text will change, and the start and end points will be reversed. As shown in the right figure below, drag the starting point to the lower right, and the text moves from the inside of the path to the outside of the path (the inside and outside are only relatively loose).

8. One of the characteristics of path-oriented characters is that they all take the path as the baseline. As shown in the picture on the right, the bottom of the character is always based on the path, so if we need to arrange the characters on a heart-shaped path larger (or smaller) than the existing heart-shaped path, should we draw a bigger (or smaller) heart-shaped path first? You don't need it. You only need to change the value of vertical offset in the character palette to achieve the effect, as shown in the figure on the left below, that is, copy the existing path to the text layer twice, and then change the value of vertical offset to 15px and-15px in turn to produce the effect. It should be noted that after changing this value, the word spacing on the path curve may be different. Besides, you can also achieve your goal by returning to a new route.

9. Now you can try to arrange multiple text layers on the original heart-shaped path by yourself, and adjust the options such as color, font size, font and vertical offset to form a patchwork effect, as shown in the figure on the left below.

10 Generally speaking, it is troublesome to draw dotted lines and dashed lines in Photoshop, but we can do this by moving the path to the text. The dotted line and dotted line can be formed by arranging several characters "-"and "."respectively along the path. You can also use other characters in combination, as shown in the figure on the right below. The shape of the dotted line can be controlled by the character palette, the font size controls the size of the dotted line, and the character spacing controls the size of the dotted line gap.
