20 18 April, Bayern Munich has decided the coach candidate for next season in advance. Croatian niko kovac, the current Frankfurt coach, will become Bayern's new coach, replacing coach Heinks, who will retire again at the end of the season.

The two sides signed a three-year contract. Bayern activated the penalty clause in the kovac contract at a cost of 2.2 million euros (about S $3.56 million), allowing Croats who signed a contract with Frankfurt to enter Bayern. Kovac, 46, was a coach of the Croatian national team. As a player, he played for Bayern Munich briefly.
