When I used to lose weight, I walked about five kilometers a day, which was faster. After about 20 days, I can see the obvious effect. First of all, I lost about five pounds in weighing scale. The most important thing is that others will tell me when they see me that I feel thinner.
So I think if you walk four kilometers every day, it will be effective in about half a month, and it should be obvious in about a month. This is my personal opinion.
