Grass carp belongs to CYPRINIDAE and is an edible freshwater fish. Grass carp, commonly known as pomfret, pomfret, grass pomfret, pomfret, pomfret, grass roots and so on. Generally, they prefer to live in the middle and lower layers of rivers, lakes and other waters and coastal areas with more aquatic plants. Grass carp, silver carp, bighead carp and herring together constitute the "four big fish" in China.

Grass carp need not quarrel, with a wide and flat head, a body length of more than 1 m, a bluish yellow body and a cylindrical shape. Aquatic plants are the staple food and grow rapidly. Their parent fish have the habit of migrating upstream during the breeding season and have been transplanted to many countries in Asia, Europe, America and Africa. Its meat is tender, smooth and delicious, with high nutritional value, but fish gall is toxic, so it should be carefully removed.

Grass carp generally like duckweed and aquatic plants, and also like to eat a lot of early grass. You can choose Mexican corn, sorghum grass, Sudan grass, Pennisetum, alfalfa grass, ryegrass and giant grass, which can be planted in the open field and then raised. Sudan grass can also be planted by the pool, but planting grass is the best way.

Grass carp feed on zooplankton in the fry stage, insects, earthworms, algae and duckweeds in the juvenile stage, and completely feed on aquatic higher plants, especially Gramineae, when the body length is about 10 cm.
